Appreciate the feedback here. I too use a not-so-simple spreadsheet that seems to be more trouble than it’s worth. It’s hard to keep up to date or accurate in projections. It’s at least comforting to know my pain is shares 🤣
Question for active pilots: How do you track your personal aviation expenses? I’m trying to get better about budgeting my flying (and all the extra costs) and I’m curious how others handle this.

Today was a day of firsts for me. 1st time filing an IFR flight plan, 1st time taking off into the soup, 1st time flying VFR on top, 1st time going missed for real, and 1st time using autopilot to minimums. And for a brief moment, I flew in a cloud sandwich with a rain filler. What a day!

Infinite Flight is definitely one of his favorite things. He loves to attempt impossible flights in the A321 and then make emergency landings along the route. He is deeply excited about the Piper and loves the WIP updates! We watched the 320/1neo video this morning probably 30 times 🫠

So after a mistake this summer trapped me on top, I’ve decided to spend the next several months focused on getting my IFR ticket. Different flight school, moving from high to low wing, different CFII. Why not shake up everything all at once? 🤷 #avgeek

It is completely reasonable that if someone saw these people kidnapping someone else on the street, they can just highly exercise their 2A rights as self-defense. There is zero indication that these people work for any kind of law agency.
Echoing everyone else. Every single minute in a plane is a learning experience. Not all are good but all are valuable. A day where everyone and everything comes back in one piece is worth celebrating. Bad days happen, but they don’t equate to a bad pilot. You will nail it next time!

Not sure if this helps, but I was going through my neuro eval and my CFI ended up leaving in the interim. Got assigned a new one that I’d never met. Had good rapport with the previous CFI but the new CFI and I meshed really really well. I didn’t have a choice but the switch helped me in the end.
You got this! I had nerves all the way to the testing center. I knew I was ready, but that last bit felt impossible. I just scheduled it and forced myself to go. Once you sit down, you will settle right in and nail it. 🛫

As a neurodivergent pilot, I can tell you that if you want it, you can get it. It’s not necessarily an easy path but I have taken the road less traveled and am happy to share my experiences. It felt awful in the moment but I don’t regret a second of it.

Welcome to the party! I’m really glad you are here! I also joined late (late 30s when I took my discovery flight) and it took me 2.5 years to get through it because of medical crap. But it’s such an amazing group of people to be around!
Spent all this time learning to look outside and now, what, I gotta spend all my time looking inside?? 🤣 it was a cool experience. Got me excited about tackling IFR though.

I couldn’t agree more. Dems have lost the plot. I see no reason that this will change any of the old guard, but I am hopeful that the party as a whole will see the few who are leading the movement successfully and shift the party in that direction.
