Couple days back I was on a nighttime flight to Alberta with a route over NW North Dakota. Out of the crystal clear darkness below appears a sea of pinpoint lights, many of them bright orange. Turns out it was the Bakken oil fields, the orange due to flaring gas. Quite the sight from 30,000ft.

But riding indoors is a total sweat fest, *pools* of sweat below the bike.

Solution: a Vacmaster floor fan w/remote. Stay cool + get the sound of the wind in your ears. 😀

I pointed my telescope at the Scutum Star Cloud, unsure of how it would appear from my light-polluted location.

Result: a wall of stars (and the Wild Duck Cluster for good measure).
