To be honest, the hard bits like side pockets were already there from the dress. I just needed to turn the top down and put some elastic and stiffener through.

Finished skirt made from a now too big dress. Navy with bold red floral print.

It's just below the knee in length and the front pleats give it a dirndl kind of outline.

Just finished sewing all the thread ends in. Decided against additional pockets and belt loops, not needed.

I'm keeping an eye out for aubergine seedlings. Tried from seed before but no joy. 3 small plants bought last year paid for themselves in fruit. Might be a bit soon but they sell quickly.
Put some net over fruit bushes to keep pigeons off but there's space for little birds to get out underneath.
