House fire at Hartley - 6 April 2026 At 4:30 am, CFS firefighters responded to a house fire at Hartley, about 15 km north-east of Strathalbyn. Around 25 volunteer firefighters on 5 trucks responded to the fire, working alongside SA Police, SA Ambulance Service, and SA Power Networks. Fortunately, no occupants were home at the time. Crews wearing breathing apparatus remain on scene to fully extinguish hotspots. The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damages to the property. Fire Investigators will attend later today.

Shed fire at Cambrai - 29 March 2026 Around 4pm, approximately 20 CFS volunteer firefighters on 4 trucks responded to a shed fire at Cambrai, north of Mannum, in the Murraylands. On arrival, crews found 3 large adjoining sheds engulfed in fire. Firefighters, with the support of 2 bulk water carriers, contained the fire to the sheds and prevented the fire from spreading to the house on the property. Unfortunately, all 3 sheds were completely destroyed with damages estimated at $100,000. SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support on scene. One person was treated on scene by SA Ambulance and another transported for smoke inhalation. Fire Investigators have been notified and crews will remain on scene to monitor for hotspots and ensure the fire is completely extinguished.

Structure fire at Kalangadoo - 21 March 2026 Two trucks carrying approximately 10 firefighters responded to reports of a fire within a storage shed at Kalangadoo in the state’s South East this afternoon. Upon arrival, quick action of crews to extinguish a ski boat and two motorbikes on fire effectively prevented any further spread to other contents in the shed. Damage is estimated at $120,000. SA Police and SA Ambulance provided support on site. The cause is undetermined and Fire Investigators have been notified.

Structure Fire in Mount Mary - 19 March 2026 The CFS were called to a structure fire at a rural residential property in Mount Mary, approximately 10 km south-west of Morgan just after 8pm. 6 trucks carrying approximately 25 CFS firefighters responded to a structure fully involved in fire upon arrival. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and limit the spread to surrounding areas of the property. The structure, including the surrounding buildings that housed multiple vehicles, are a total loss, with damages estimated at $350,000. Crews will remain on site for some time to ensure total extinguishment and make the area safe. SA Police and SA ambulance have supported crews on site. Thankfully, no occupants were present at the time. The cause is currently undetermined, and Fire Investigators have been notified.

House fire at Gladstone - 15 March 2026 Five trucks and 25 volunteer firefighters responded to multiple telephone calls to Triple Zero to attend a structure fire at 5.50 pm at Gladstone in the state’s Mid North. Upon arrival CFS firefighters found a fully involved fire that had started under the veranda of a house. Unfortunately, an occupant of the house was injured in the incident, which was determined to have been started by a barbecue. The resident was transported to hospital by SA Ambulance Service. The fire has proven challenging for the volunteer firefighters, who are wearing breathing apparatus. One firefighter has been checked on scene for heat stress by SA Ambulance, and released without further treatment. The volunteers have contained the blaze but are still working to fully extinguish it and will remain on scene for some time. Damage to the property is estimated at $200,000.

Road train fire at Coonalpyn - 15 March 2026 Four CFS trucks carrying approximately 20 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a vehicle fire just after 7 am on the Dukes Highway at Coonalpyn, approximately 170 kilometres south east of Adelaide. Upon arrival volunteer firefighters found the rear trailer of a road train involved in fire. The truck driver was able to separate the truck cab, preventing the fire’s spread. Volunteer firefighters have contained the fire but the impacted trailer has been destroyed. The trailer contained a large number of packages for delivery, the value of which is unknown. The Dukes Highway has been closed for the duration of the incident but is expected to reopen shortly. CFS volunteers received SA Police support at this incident.

Structure fire at Millicent - 14 March 2026 Two trucks carrying approximately 10 volunteer firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a structure fire at 6:45am on Mount Burr Road at Millicent in the state’s South East. Upon arrival firefighters found the brick-veneer home fully involved in fire. Thankfully, there were no occupants present. Quick action from the volunteer firefighters soon had the fire under control. The property suffered significant internal damage, estimated at $125,000. SA Police provided support. The cause is undetermined and being investigated.

Farm Machinery Fire in Fox - 9 March 2026 Shortly before 5:45 pm, approximately 8 CFS firefighters responded with 3 trucks to a farm machinery fire in Fox, located 66 km north-east of Naracoorte in the state’s Limestone Coast. A Farm Fire Unit from the property owner attempted to extinguish the fire before crews arrived. The fire is believed to have started due to a mechanical fault. The farm machinery was destroyed, causing an estimated $150,000 in damage.
