It always surprises me when Audible audiobooks don’t edit. I’ve listened to several lately where the narrator has two or three goes at a sentence.
One of them even admonished themselves verbally before each go. 🙂

Happy news!!
The audiobook is finally available on Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books (iTunes). It has been classified as "Teen & Young Adult", which will be corrected soon (their fault, not ours).

Lifestyle Update: I have started moisturising.
A thousand times, THIS!!
I must have received a hundred, in addition to those who wish to help me with my GoFundMe, and help it "grow organically". Only a one-time fee of $50 too.
I am beginning to think that most Podcast Subscriptions may be massively overpriced.
I write for a year and sell a book for the same price as some are charging for two podcasts per month.
Something isn't right.

Some days, the words just come—thank God. I got up early. If only that worked every time.

The highlight of today so far has been getting turned down for a job at Plymouth's new crematorium.

I'm not slamming the guy, as he was nice as you'd like, but I took a lot of paperwork with me and my little work plan book. Now, I know I won't be as motivated to fill it in because I know myself.
I got "no thank you" emails from five job applications yesterday, too. :(
I'm in a bit of a low mood at the moment, but I shall bounce back. I had my second job seekers meeting, and it was good. Too good, actually. I wanted them to get on my case and check all the evidence I took with me, but they didn't.
Good night everyone 🙂
My book, The Crow & The Wolf, is free on Kindle today and tomorrow. Come and meet my Paris Café Family. In an uncertain time, they are cheerful and fun, full of friendship, smiles and wonder. Book 2 is already available, and Book 3 is out at the end of the year.

The cover from JA Lawrence and James Blish's Harry Mudd stories, reprinted in the 1990s.
Blish left out the two Mudd stories from the previous 12 books and then tried to adapt them both and make one story. He died before finishing, and his wife, JA Lawrence, finished it and added a 3rd, original story. Later reprinted with a new title.

A text-free version from Chris Achilleos' website of the cover image from Book 12 of James Blish's Star Trek episode adaptations, showing a scene from The Corbomite Manoeuvre - a big alien head that turned out to be a puppet fashioned to scare people away.
Book 12 and an image from The Corbomite Manoeuvre that everyone remembers from the closing credits. A nice clean image from Chris Achileos' website, too. This is (almost) the last of the episode adaptations, but don't worry. There are lots more covers to come.

The Amazon Blackout resulted in zero book sales this week.
That'll teach us, won't it?
The cover of James Blish's 11th book of Star Trek Episode adaptations, showing a scene from the episode - Day of The Dove, featuring Kang, Kirk and a Klingon DX7 Battle Cruiser.

I have been buying these books from eBay and this one stands out because it was in MINT condition. No joke. 40 years old and £3.00. Where has this been kept?? Unread too. 🤷🏻♂️😳😊

Indeed it did. I think those are the US prints. They seem to be very expensive on eBay. The UK 1970s prints were quite dull by comparison.
My cats Mabel - long haired, black and furry, and Daisy, black and white short-haired. They are cuddling up on a grey fleece on my writing desk.
Mabel and Daisy letting me know that the temperature has dropped a little.

Book 10 and a thoughtful looking Spock from the episode "The Galileo Seven", as featured inside the book. I should probably mention that every cover is based on one of the episodes in each book.

If you'd like to buy our books (Book 3 is being written at the moment) and enjoy the adventures of Imogen and Francois, they can be found here. They are fun mysteries set in a cafe at the beginning of the 20th Century in Paris. Thank you.

Please help if you can. We want to employ a professional narrator to bring the audiobook or our first book to life. We make almost no money from our books, and we'd appreciate anything you could spare. Thank you.

Book 9 already, and an image from The Immunity Syndrome -first broadcast in the UK on Mon 10th Aug 1970. We had to wait quite a while, didn't we? A nice clean copy from Chris Achileos' website too.
These covers just make me want to be 10 years old again.

To someone who finds it hard to put himself out there and advertise a GoFundMe, I am now completely fed-up with parasites who offer to help and have no intention of doing so, merely trying fleecing me of a few pounds.
Is there really no part of our world that people won't exploit?
The cover of James Blish's 8th Star Trek Episode adaptations, showing a scene from the 2nd Pilot episode - Where No Man Has Gone Before. Including a fake gravestone with James Kirk's middle initial as T. In the original episode, his middle name had not been established and it was shown as R.
A screen grab from the TV episode. showing the original "JAMES R KIRK" inscription.
Book 8. It took me a while to realise that the face in the background was supposed to be Gary Mitchell, but apart from a slightly weird take on William Shatner's face, I still like this one. I also like how the continuity error has been fixed on the gravestone.

No. We are almost there, but we self-publish through Amazon KDP and intend to do the same with the audiobook through Amazon ACX. Professional narrators cost at least £1000 and we make very little selling the books. An audiobook would just be another ambition ticked off our list.
Thank you.
Of course, the obvious solution to my job hunting woes would be to sell 3000 books a month.
...and yet the unemployed are currently in the firing line for "not wanting to work". Also, the government is promising "to get people back to work". A noble idea, certainly. How about you actually look at the job market and see what the problem really is for a lot of us.
When I was last in this position, all you did was read the morning papers, iron your suit, comb your hair and do your fucking best. After two hours on three different websites this morning, all I want to do is cry and give up. Since when was HOW you answered a question more important than the answer?
