The number won't be very useful to me if I didn't check last month's number I dare say

It's a smart meter so.. probably? I don't keep track of it though. Too much else to do
God, that's always a headache too. I hope it goes smoothly for you and you find something suitable.
Kinda stressful eh. It's like a nasty surprise is hiding around the corner
Graph of scout's power usage for the last year. April 2025 was just over 460kWh but April 2026 is at 300 or so.
Contact. They were super high last year but apparently my usage is lower. Idk how, have had the heatpump running since the start of March.
Privileged men like to hire women for HR because they can still be dicks while presenting a socialised "niceness"
All pattern recognition and logic suggests my power bills should be going up and instead they're down quite low. I shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth right? But what if this is a terrible trick and next month's bill decimates me. I hate skirting so close to destitute so often.
This morning I've helped my mother regain access to her emails and I've prevented my daughter gaining (further) access to my entire laptop. It's a weird family tech dichotomy here. Happy first day of term 2!
That kiwifruit would be coveted in this house. My kiwifruit budget has risen exponentially in the last week. She takes them, slices them, lines them along the table with feijoa halves interspersed, and eats every last one.
A new report pleads for the coalition Government to reverse its cuts to the science sector if it wants to see it profit
Cartoon depicts a scene in a science laboratory. 'GOVT REDIRECTS AGRI-SCIENCE FUNDING - NEWS' Lab worker male: "What does it say?" CHATBOT on a computer screen: "Take funds from labs and give them to tech." Lab worker female: "Our funding is gone."
Cuts to lab staff.... #FarmersWeeklyNZ #nzpol
It's so tiring, all the bullshit

They lied. Despite over 90% of submitters opposed and massive divisions caused.

The consultation questions wanted us to go through a rubric of like, how prepared we are as a kura for the change. We got halfway through and the lowest level is heaps of "we are not understanding YET why this is important" and we're like... we understand the document, and we DISAGREE.
Just did a wānanga with other whānau from our kura about Te Marautanga ā-kura and oh my lorddd.. such a loaded consultation process, with so little time to submit, and its going to rip the very soul out of bilingual programmes like ours. & we can't even find the bloody document anymore to refer to!
In-*credible*.

as someone who’s not mathematically inclined this shit is goddamn SORCERY
Lady behind me at The Thing screening last night to her partner "why are they shooting at the dog?" and her partner says very firmly "have you never seen a film before? You watch it and information is revealed"
remembered a good tweet
Bursting into the first reading of the bill, waving a large, confused crayfish while yelling "BEHOLD! A MAN!"
Have a think about what a fuel shortage in a cyclone means. Power goes out? Is there spare fuel to run the generators? To evacuate?
I hereby pledge to become the BIGGEST public nuisance if NZF's bill is made into law.
I'll drop trou and show my vag to anyone who asks why I, the small beardy balding man, is entering the women's loo.
I'll show off my childbirth scars, I'll shave cute pics into me pubes.
I'll comply. Good luck.

As you can imagine, all HER Micro-USB cables are functioning fine.
I *might* be able to interrupt the behaviour by distracting her by buying her something today but obviously doing that is not a financially sustainable option to make life equal over a $2.50 clearance USB-A to Micro-USB cable.
The next part of this behaviour that we'll manage today is going to be that she will start stealing my belongings in order to make it "fair". Anything from food we have for a special dinner, to shiny things she finds in my room, to items belonging to guests. They'll get hoarded under her bed.
My child, 7, autistic, has a super over-developed sense of justice. So when she perceives something as unfair, she does this behaviour called equalising.
Today's example of that is that a USB-A -> Micro-USB cable I needed arrived and she declared "Why do you get all the cables and I don't!"
(I have a master of health policy planning and service delivery ✌🏼😁)
Some regions do have this care available for youth, some PHOs do pull funding together for programmes, ik southern and Canterbury both have PHO funding for trained GP practices to prescribe/administer
Speaking thru my quals, extremely challenging to arrange. Funding model in NZ has all primary care privatised and funded thru capitation, would either need hefty charitable support or to use existing models for heavily subsidised that I don't think can be made trans only
Yeah care there is a headache atm. Speak to GMA, they're on the ground and may know more about where to go
