My @avclub.com review of “Big Mistakes,” a super fun crime/family comedy from dream writing duo Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott

Just realized that Dr. Abbot from “The Pitt” is the same dude who snorted his dead girlfriend’s cremains on “Six Feet Under.” You contain multitudes, Shawn Hatosy
Casting a cis actor as Lev, a character whose entire arc is about being rejected for his transness, is a particularly gross call. Extra baffling given how compelling the show’s queer storylines have been—building and expanding upon the what was already in the game. Do better, guys. #thelastofus
Brendon is one of precious few Hollywood men who genuinely seemed to be working on himself and tackling his mental illness in the aftermath of the bad shit he did. A tragedy he didn’t live to see it through.
I think that shitty Hulu exec did some kind of Illuminati curse on the Buffyverse. Hope you’re doing the Snoopy dance somewhere up there, Xan 💔
If you're looking for a direct way to help out in these terrible days: My trans immigrant friend needs to raise $2K by 8pm ET tonight to pay his immigration lawyer's fees. Would be grateful if you could share this around/donate if you're able!

Diabetic with ADHD here! Currently my pharmacy doesn’t have my Adderall OR my insulin in stock, so we’re already there
Well this isn’t alarming at all 🫣
A friend of mine (who has to remain anon for safety reasons) is trapped in immigration hell right now, and is in urgent need of funds to cover his legal fees so he can remain in the States. Here's a link to his GoFundMe if you want to help out a wonderful person who's in a bind:
When I was 28, I almost died. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
My first insulin prescription cost me $684.
Most Texans can't afford that. So when I got elected, I capped insulin at $25/month.
I know what it means to fight for my life. In the Senate, I’ll fight for yours.
It never stops.
It all just
never stops
I got into copy editing because there were more positions open than for staff writers and content editors. That is now no longer the case, and I can’t find a dang job.
Help, the @dimension20.bsky.social boys got me where I live again
There’s a man on the F train with a tiny rubber duckie glued to the top of his watch cap, which brought me a wee yellow glint of joy on this cloudy morning
That’s all.
look upon my works, ye mighty, and let me know what you think

My review of "Riot Women," Sally Wainwright's ferocious new series about a group of middle-aged women who channel their unexpressed rage and frustration through punk rock. Come for Rosalie Craig belting Hole, stay for the love and catharsis.

Starting tomorrow, the Trump administration is set to send notices to 1,000 student loan borrowers (first round) noticing them of an intent to garnish their wages for student loan debt.
This is cruel and unnecessary.
If you receive a notice, send it to us and we'll try to help.
A sampling of post titles on the NYCjobs subreddit. What a time to be unemployed and still stubbornly alive.
In a nation ruled by supremacy and all its many sabotages of the public good, every act of repair is a defiant act.
*Every* act of repair is a defiant act.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Though it comes with challenges, I won't let it stop me from doing what I love, including travel.

My first-ever personal essay, about rebuilding my life after being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 39. It feels deeply vulnerable to put this out in the world, but it also means a lot to have the chance to tell this story. Here’s to many years of hiking to come. #t1d
People ask me why I still buy DVDs and Blu-rays. This is why. But most streaming series don’t get physical releases, which means a show as beloved and groundbreaking as “She-Ra” could easily be disappeared. Especially in this age of censorship, we need a reliable way to preserve the archive.
This is the compromise? This is the bipartisanship? This is the civility? This is the return to normalcy? This is the price of winning? WHAT WILL YOU HAVE WON
