Oh, indeed! I think of 'Artist' as a blanket term for all the arts.

I'm thrilled to have a StarHenge #4 cover by my friend, the excellent Mr. Al Davison! How great is this? The new series starts July 1st! Be sure to let your LCS know you want it reserving!

Because now the commentators are themselves unblemished and utterly perfect, and will judge you.
Art used to be about exploring the human condition in all it's shades and depths and gaudiness. It used to challenge, and still should. But everything is so public now the work can't speak for itself. We have to BE the work.
These days artists are expected to be thick-skinned, circumspect, non-reactive, non-political, non-controversial and completely inoffensive. And also sales people, promoters, etc. when many of us have massive anxiety issues and self-doubts. There's not much room left to be just fallibly human...
The adventure continues...

Ben Stone’s fab cover for StarHenge - A Kiss for Atticus #3! Love it. :-)
Me too!

❤️❤️❤️🙏😎
Liam Sharp is a goddamn wizard.
Love ya Gail! ❤️
Actually me too. I’m about to turn 58. Been doing this 40 years. I was just feeling a little thin-skinned today, and sometimes it just gets to you, and you just wonder why you even put yourself out there. But it is the nature of things. I’m usually more circumspect. Just tired. 👍🏻
I’ll take that. :-)
One directive I had editorially was ‘this time go even bigger…’ so I did. :-)
I was just having an over-sensitive moment. Happens sometimes. I’m human! 👍🏻
❤️🙏😎
Probably a slight over-reaction from me, but people don't realize how a casual joke completely diminishes the effort involved. People think we do this without effort, as if it's just easy and doesn't matter. But I should chill. Been working my ass off lately and I'm a bit knackered. :-)
Ha! Thank you. :-) it’s true. I am Liam Sharp - whatever that means. Just another very human (and fallible) person. Cheers!
All fair enough. It can just get… tired? I’ve been doing this 40 years. You try to stay relevant, keep moving forward. And it’s a lot of work. It never ends. And it’s just tiring. And sometimes you lose your sense of humour. Wasn’t just you btw. But thanks for the human response. Appreciated!
My next big Conan story. Not sure what issue it will be as I'm still wrpping it up - 9 pages to go of 64... And also StarHenge Book 2, 'A Kiss For Atticus'. :-) THANK YOU!
Kindness goes a long way, and is becoming under-valued. Point-scoring and 'owning' people seems to be all that matters now. I feel old! :-)

This is the first time I can remember people being as rude about something I've worked on - directly to me - as they could be on Twitter. sad development. Have your views, make your jokes, but not directly to the people working hard to entertain you. FFS.
Hang on, when did this become Twitter? :-(
