I chose Windows 11 as the OS for a couple reasons.
First: SteamOS and Bazzite wouldn't recognize the WiFi/BT card and driver updates didn't do anything to help.
Second: I wanted to use this as a Plex client. It will passthrough lossless audio, creating a better overall viewing experience.

This little guy is loaded with a Ryzen 5 7545U, Radeon 740M, 32GB DDR5 and 3TB (total) nvme storage. While also rocking a 2.5GB ethernet and WIFI-6E.
I've been able to play PS2 games at 1080/1440 @ 60fps. WiiU, N64, PS1, Dreamcast and every that came before runs smooth like butter.
I scrapped the Elitedesk G4 emulator project. While it was running the ROMs pretty well I wanted a better solution. I found the budget-friendly Minisforum UM750L for just over $300 and added an additional 2TB nvme to it. Total investment $530, including two new BT controllers.

It's been 6 months since my last post! I kinda forgot about the platform. ๐
Anyway, I completed my project of ripping all of my physical media. I also increased my digital library to an impressive 61TB!
My Plex server is chugging along nicely and the entire family (and some friends are enjoying it!
There's a whole subreddit dedicated to ripping your legally owned physical media and the best software to do it. Complete with guidance on which drives work and which ones don't.

I only have 5 movies from my collection left to rip, and then that will be a second project completed!
Got a good deal last week on 20TB external HDDs. So I grabbed 4 and shucked then last night. Today I was able to get them added to the NAS, an additional 52TB of usable storage set up in a RAIDZ1.
That's one project complete!
Spent an hour last night with the #emulator adding #Sega games. Slowly working my way up the #Retrogame ladder. Tonight will be #N64
What are your favorite #NES and #SNES games? I'm looking for, maybe, something I haven't played yet. Though I'd love to hear about any of your faves. #emulator
I've been working on getting an emulator set up. I'm using an HP Elitedesk G4 mini with Batocera installed. Today, I was able to get a bunch of classic NES ROMs installed and configured with box art.
It's looking nice, and I can't wait to sit down and play some classic games!
On a side note. All of my movies and TV shows have been in boxes ๐ฆ in our storage room since we moved into our house 3 years ago. Last week, I built a media shelf in a closet to hold all of them. It's not professional grade work, but I'm happy with it. And no one will ever see it, so... bonus.
Back in Nov. I decided to digitize all of my media and run a Plex server for my family and friends. I'm about 80% done with the conversion from physical media to digital.
As a result I have to expand the NAS from 36TB to 96TB. Additional hard drives coming later this week!
I have had this account for over a month now. I've had absolutely no clue what to do with it, how to use, what to post.
I have finally decided that this will be a creative/techie outlet. I'll post my ideas for projects and updates on their progress.
