Tesla revolutionized transport, SpaceX revolutionized rockets, Neuralink revolutionized BCI, and the Boring Company revolutionized tunnel construction. The amount that these companies have contributed to collective human flourishing and reducing catastrophic risk from climate change is ASTOUNDING.

Given his talents as a visionary CEO, it seems a good thing that Elon maintains controlling stakes in Tesla and SpaceX. Tesla board tried to figure a way without such large stake but could not. So I'm not sure why him owning a big stake is so bad. Another thing is his wealth is not terribly liquid.

This Sunday I'll be participating in a livestream where I'll be discussing what I've built so far at @metasciencejournal.bsky.social. I'll also be discussing my website @gene-wizard.bsky.social where you can upload your genetics data and get detailed information on your SNPs & polygenic risk scores.

Being against AI at this particular moments is like being against electricity in the 1880s, or being against cars in the 1910s, airplanes in the 1920s, washing machines in the 1940s, nuclear power in the 1970s, the internet in the 1990s.. all I can say is good luck with that LOL

The White House is proposing massive cuts to NIH, NSF, and NASA. Meanwhile, they are wasting 2-3 billion A DAY in a misguided and completely counterproductive war in Iran, and asking to increase the already bloated DoD budget by $500 B. I've never been this mad at an administration in my life!

I knew 2025 was a big year for AI, but I didn’t realize how big until I saw this graph. It was the year of the agentic AI revolution!

I fear what they are doing is harming the reputations of both the Abundance and Transhumanist movements, two social movements I think are of critical importance to the flourishing of humanity. 5/5

Pumping out hype and blind techno-optimism is core to their business model.

If Diamandis and SingularityU were actually something good for the world with all the money they were pulling in, I might be OK with what they are doing, but as far as I can tell they are not. 4/5

I think we are collectively too techno-pessimistic, but I also am very much against hype and willful blindness to the downsides of new technologies. 3/5

Furthermore, “Singularity University” is a not actually a university! Instead of providing a valuable education and fostering serious inquiry, they sell canned hype to corporate clients. They capitalize on people’s fears about being left behind the curve. 2/5

I am not a fan of Peter Diamandiss and Singularity University!

Their “Abundance” conferences are scamy networking events for the ultra-rich. The conference appears increasingly out-of-touch in the light of the growing Abundance movement, which is actually focused on realizing abundance for all! 1/5

Your attack on Colossal looks foolish given the significant progress they have achieved recently. Furthermore, the Bioviva paper on the nasal gene therapy is not "bullshit" as you say. The issues in the paper that were found did not effect the conclusion of the work. Be better..

It looks like they've pivoted to something completely different (relationship concierge). It's not clear it's even the same company. Your article is is crude, rude, inaccurate, and doesn't engage with the serious ethical issues involved.

Sign this petition to @mayorwu.boston.gov - Allow @waymo.bsky.social in #Boston!!

Selfish unions are supporting a ban. Waymo cars are more climate friendly and safer! They also have the potential to reduce congestion dramatically.
