yeah its great for sketching but if you want something repeatable or complex it gets unwieldy fast... me and fen bickered about this a lot during the jam because I was slowing everything down fiddling when fae could do it ten times faster with a storyboard lmao

in other news i played moth x flame last night and it was very good. especially love the camerawork and scene direction… it really does feel like a stage production. made me think a lot about how i might wanna approach the visual side of my vns in the future.

ah yeah, i use action editor a lot because I'm very visual in how I want to frame things. that said a lot of the most complicated bits were done by hand by my collaborator fen and I'll probably do my part mostly as storyboards going forward
man the end of lorelei and the lazer eyes fucked me up... went from zero crying to a million crying in like ten lines
fen is a goomba, but also sick this week so be kind to faer for forgetting to post the episode until now.
we finish up introductory chapter (it’s great!) and prototype is close to good? it’s coherent at least!

making a visual novel is one of the most sacred acts a human can perform
take it with a grain of salt when someone who exclusively writes stories about maladaptive social burnouts talks about community but the lack of centralization strikes me as an interesting "problem" because the roots are harder to kill even as it makes it difficult to define a cohesive movement
kastel's article is a great survey of moods surrounding the toxic yuri jam and it's knock on effects. i really appreciate that it captures the weird tension between the moment of incredible solidarity when the delisting happened and the broader discohesion of contributors outside of that moment
“We felt that there were not enough yuri visual novels with extreme themes we were particularly into, so we decided to take it into our own hands.”

If you're not one of the first thousand to play Moth x Flame, don't be left behind.
Be one of the first ten thousand.

hehe now they're all gonna start flocking in like... like..... fuck i wish there was some kind of convenient metaphor for this sort of situation
I'll celebrate by continuing to be the sick as hell at making visual novels
whoa hell yeah when did moth x flame hit 1k downloads
well in their defence that one's in the dsm
this whole thread has painted me in a very unflattering light I think
katherine, and i mean this as a high compliment, but the way you word things sometimes comes out as lessons in love dialogue
and that solves it. I'll wear my offical podcast merch "fate/moon archive does not endorse underage drinking unless its sick" shirt so everyone knows im cool and easy to get along with
don't you start with me
the one issue is that it might actually be too long to play in a single semester
had the thought that you could teach a whole writing class just on lessons in love, and then about fourteen seconds later remembered why that particular forum may be a challenging place to discuss it
just nicole. everyone else is the same age
gotta catch up on lessons in love before the toxic yuri jam so I can make something 100000x more insane and horny than last time
