Moderating YT comments is usually nice - it's folks sharing a passion for live music. But something about The Chick's (w/ protest footage behind stage) and Sam Smith's glorious enjoyment has really brought out the grumpy old white guys with pithy disgust. Just scroll on by, I'm only gonna delete ya.

Sam Smith in concert, at Spark Arena, Auckland. Sam is wearing a very sparkly and warm dress, and can be seen extra life size on a screen, and regular life size on a platform on the stage. The crowd on the floor and sides of the arena also sparkle if lit phone lights in the air.

I was going to compile a couple of recent instances of alleged free speech zealots letting their principles slide for political convenience but what I mean to say is, it's been a normal week

I usually ignore the marketing emails I get, but free shipping from the garden centre tempted me this morning as I lay in bed. I was watching the price, but not really volume.

In the light of day, I see I've bought 28 things (really 79 plants). My container garden will overflow if it all survives.

I enjoyed it - I found s1 quite hard to get into, and s2 is faster paced. And I was absolutely watching for Lee Pace. :-D

A tray of golden almond biscotti, now twice baked. The pieces are jagged, because they were cut before they were cool from the first bake.

I was too impatient to wait for it to cool before slicing for the second bake, but the worst consequence is crumbled edges of almond biscotti to eat and sprinkle on things, and I will happily live with that!

I am meant to be at Lauren Spencer Smith, but I fell asleep and it was too late to leave home in time. Oh well, I can cry along to emotional songs at home, anyway.

Not my finest idea, but at least I’ll have biscotti for breakfast! Now I have to wait for it to cool at little before baking the slices.

One of the great things about seeing The Chicks last night was the pre-show roll of videos on screen beforehand - all fabulous female artists and bands. And woah, did the crowd really get into singing along to 4 Non-Blondes "What's Going On?". 😊
