I think that has had a huge bearing on this season, as much as it hurts fans players just dont think the same about clubs, they want career success as soon as possible and have agents wanting regular moves for pay days. Us effectively holding Isak would have annoyed some players.

Another rant, we used to set the team up to suit Isak best, we signed Waltermade and did not change the set up to suit his style best, tried to stay the same and it was never going to work over a season. I find that baffling tbh. #NUFC

The stubbornness last summer to try and keep Isak didn't help, it lead to panic spending at the end of the window, would letting him go earlier and proper recruitment have helped? Also chasing unrealistic transfers all summer was ludicrous.

How often do you see this happen at clubs and a manager goes then they suddenly perform in the next game again? I agree with lack of ideas but players dont seem to want to take responsibility on the pitch anymore, they get paid whatever the result, maybe that's modern footballs bigger issue.

Am I alone in thinking players are not held accountable enough? This whole lost the dressing room nonsense, they are paid exceptionally well to do a job, they clearly in the last few matches have downed tools. Im not saying there shouldn't be change, but players seem to get away with it. #NUFC

I am in the minority defo 🤣 i also get fed up of the same names banded about and think will they do better? Another debate is the lack of young British coaches or the lack of them getting opportunities.i guess thats the fear from clubs to risk not going for a so called bigger name?

I am probably in the minority but I really like Lampard as a manager, I think he did really well at Chelsea under tough circumstances and brought on a lot of the young talent there at the time, now he is doing a terrific job at Coventry, still quite young in managerial terms as well.

Thats the type I would also like, I think Fabregas will prob be on Barca and maybe even Arsenals long term radar, he is doing a terrific job at Como, I dont know much about there story though.

I worry about who would come in like you say will it be right? Will they come in to build a project or try and have instant success but at what cost long term? I look at other clubs like Chelsea who have thrown so much money at players and changed manager so often and dont really Improve.

Fergie was the greatest at regenerating a squad but he also had the most resources as does pep now, new coaching faces is a good idea, I have a sneaky feeling Howe himself might decide its time for a break, that might be the best and least disruptive option.

I was surprised as well especially without Bruno as he offers something different to the rest of the midfield in a creative sense.

Only Osula's one in the second half but that was a harder effort than it first looked with the angle he was running.

Last summer was the casing point to this, the club wasted so much time chasing players that realistically where never going to sign or we couldn't afford the combination on fee and wages. We are in a bit of an area where fans want bigger names but realistically we need to find the undeveloped gems.

Thats a very good point, last season especially after the shambolic summer with various leadership people leaving, it took its toll on him physically to the point he was poorly and thats not what anyone wants, he clearly is very intense and immersed fully in it and will be hurting alot.

I do think burn out, maybe squads as well as coaches have a certain time cycle that works then it loses that freshness, I know its been a very full on season on all fronts but they do look weary. That old in the face bite, high press, almost angry get at em mentality seems to have gone.

I would like to gauge opinion on here on how people are thinking about the future I.e next season? Im not a reactionary manager out type as a rule and Howe has given me personally the most joy as a supporter since keegan, but does a manager have a burn out point? #NUFC

Where do you even start with that? Scored then just bimbled through the first half, wasted so many set pieces, then just capitulated completely in the second half. I actually thought after about 30 mins in we are going to lose this, sums it up really. #NUFC

We have learned nothing from last week, so nieve at the end of a half, could have kept the ball with a free kick but no hoof it up, lose the ball and they gwt a pen again. #NUFC

It wasn't just the Isak situation in the summer or the late incoming, for me the pointless chasing of unrealistic targets for weeks, sometimes longer of players who never had any intention of joining that set the problems off. #NUFC
