Project Hail Mary was a really good sci-fi movie. Lots of science, lots of emotions, the stakes are high, the SFX are great, and Ryan Gosling is always charming.

I dunno. We're just a rec group, not pros. The gym doesn't require them. It's the first time I've seen it happen, right in the eye.
I might not be invited back to badminton anymore. 😆
Tonight I smashed the shuttle into an opponent's eye (accidentally). She was, eventually, ok.
Next game, different players, we were laughing that people needed to watch out for me. And then I smashed the shuttle into someone else's forehead. ☹️
So we need a campaign to tell businesses not to buy into their nonsense. 😄

Ok, this is dumb. Why are we still doing this? #deadtrees
Do it!
Could be.
The book outlines well how the Philippines, because of its heavy social media use, was a test case/example for what has happened in the broader world since. And how governments and media and the (sometimes hoodwinked) public interact in that now-confusing online space.

I just finished @mariaressa.bsky.social 's book, "How To Stand Up To A Dictator". It was an excellent look at why she fights against the tech machinery of authoritarian power, and how we can too. It was a good follow-up to @naomiaklein.bsky.social 's "Doppelganger" which I read last year.

This is fantastic.
I heard that! I was impressed.
My theory is that Anthropic is way, way, way more like OpenAI than its legion of fans would like to admit. They're already in the "OH MY GOD THIS IS SO POWEFUL WE CAN'T SHARE IT WITH YOU" (and subsequent write-ups) phase of marketing tactics and I reckon it's going to get worse for them
1. My new VP at work said good things about my ability and attitude.
2. Bought a bunch of half-price, seasoned, small portions of meat that will be great for my lunches (I work from home).
3. My son enjoyed his first session of a new basketball academy, despite being one of the younger kids there.
It's a small one, but cruise ship season in Halifax has begun.

Easter, my mom's birthday, and maple season at the farm often converge.

Here we go! Artemis II launches in just a few minutes.
It was someone else's AI generation, not mine, so I'm glad too.
Funnily, Dan said the same thing.
My stunned face, embedded in a movie poster for "Everything Everywhere All At Once"
My workplace collected quotes/fun facts from everyone about how stressful things have been lately, and then had a quiz to guess who said what. And they made AI pictures, of course, for the answers.
They picked my submission for "What film title represents the last few weeks for you?"
Did you know that, by more than one group's assessment, there are more autocracies than democracies in the world today? That's wild and scary. Is this a reaction to the state of popular disenfranchisement? www.democracywithoutborders.org/36317/autocr...

SFO coffee life (good, but expensive 😆)
Me on a train, with an airport and hills behind me.
Hello, San Francisco!
Me in an airport lounge
I appreciate the positivity! Not there, though. In transit in Toronto.
Me in the back of a taxi
Planes, trains, and automobiles today. Where will I pop up?
For sure!

Bar crowd
It's been a few years since I got out for St Patrick's Day, but a little downtown bar-hop with my friends Barry and Tanya made for a fun night.
Or maybe those are the bouncers. Hardcore, either way.
There are people lined up outside Durty Nelly's in this weather. 🍀🍺 www.novascotiawebcams.com/webcams/argy...
