Organising an election campaign is hard work but it is incredibly inspiring. Cycled to our action day yesterday morning, and my heart felt so full. The more I speak to people on the doorstep, the more time I spend with my fellow campaigners, the more I fall in love with Oxford, all over again.
I'm very proud to be a co-author on this study, led by the brilliant @elisabecker.bsky.social .
Give it a read! β¬οΈ
Thanks for coming, Carla, it was great to have you and everyone who joined us in Oxford today. So many doors knocked, so many letters and leaflets delivered, so many wonderful chats and so much hope. An absolute dream for any organiser π«Άππ

I don't live in an LTN, but they have massively helped with accessable into the city by providing a safe low traffic network, that must have been what Cllr Saj Malik had in mind.
It's really important to understand that not everyone can drive. In particular 100 % of under 17 year olds.
I signed this petition. A future-forward vision for Warneford Park must not come with increased congestion, road danger, emissions and air and noise pollution for Churchill and Headington residents.
Literally post its at my desk. Cross off when done
perimenopause really puts it in overdrive. I was not warned.
Now in a state where I have to organise myselfwith multiple do lists: for work, for the campaign, and about to add a third that is just life: "laundry", "don't forget to have lunch", "make dentist appointment" or "cook a meal using the veg that starts to look more tired than you.". Normal!
We had to close on the 9th of March, before being cleared to re-open on the 16th. Unfortunately, the issues have come up again - meaning an even BIGGER bill, and an indefinite closure. Donate to help us repair at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/oxford-mut...
Oxford - are you ready for more Green councillors than ever? πππ

The Green Party has launched its manifesto for the Oxford City Council elections, pledging to build a βfairer, greener and more equal cityβ. They say that the manifesto was written following thousands of doorstep conversations with voters and responds to the big issues that residents have raised.
The typical SUV exerts around five times more force on the road than the typical passenger car. The dramatic shift to SUVs in the past 20 years - from 3% of cars on the road in England to over 30% β is expected to have played some role in increasing wear and tear. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

I tried to wildflower bomb parts of it before, it is incredibly compacted (despite it looking churned up in the picture) and is constantly driven onto, nothing came through.
I saw one of these the other day and was wondering what they are called. Now I know! Thank you!
Soon enough this patch of grass will look like itβs bollard-less patch on the opposite side of the road. I hope the council will replace the bollard and maybe install some more here!
in time, with climate change, we will have more canals ...

Who's a good girl? yes you are. Yes, yes you are. (in "that voice").
this used to be our go to take away when it was still called The Green Asian and we lived literally almost next to it, absolute ages ago. Ah the memories. Sticky, oily memories.
