Do you get injured when you go to the gym? Talking to a friend and they said this.... Maybe a change of focus is needed; don't think about how much you can lift, but instead concentrate on how much you can lower, safely and under control... Then build to being able to lift slowly and then lower...

Saved me having to press on them individually...

Yep, it might, but then it's maybe like a late night/very early morning, rather than jet lagged both ways... I mean jet lag going would possibly/probably cause problems with their game, making them a poor choice? I mean the AB took this to an amazing level...

The all blacks if flying out for a short while stay on NZ time... This can mean flying on planes with blacked out windows, eating breakfast at tea time etc... for longer trips they transition while still in NZ... Wonder if they do similar somehow?

Add in appropriate rehab, although we could call it cross training if we wanted and we give the running patient the skills to treat themselves going forward, rather than a person who has a weakness and will continue to need you for life.

They also get deconditioned...so now, when they feel "better" there's the temptation to just go for it...leading to a boom in activity, followed by bust and more time off injured.. keeping running in a modified way keeps a baseline and reduces the likely boom/bust as something has been maintained.

You stop them running... This can separate them from part of their identity, they seem themselves as a runner... Not running is psychologically painful. It can also separate them from their social groups, so the social support and friend group becomes part of the problem.

I do have to say, it pisses me off when I get in a patient who runs (for example). Whose previous therapists have told them to stop running without any effort to keep them running. There's various ways of trying to do this. Stopping running potentially leads to other problems..

I get that completely.

When treating people with tendon injuries we have to consider all factors, but also remember; some we can't change, some are long term changes, some are goals to work towards, but some of these can be changed immediately in your first appointment.

@eddiedoc.bsky.social hi Eddie. Just read your profile. Mindlessness or mindfulness? I love my running because that's completely mindlessness to me..no podcasts or music.. just a chance for brain to do what it wants..m

Been thinking about some in my twitter network that haven't moved here. Enjoying the lack of drama...so while some may be big noises, would I automatically follow again? I don't know just now...

Haven't revised head and neck anatomy in years, so decided to order this to help me visualise better... Too late for Halloween this year, alas...

Have you seen a way to save starter packs as lists to follow as a separate stream, or maybe a clever idea to save a list of separate starter packs?

If there's room, could you add me please.

There's a bluesky directory of tools which may have something now... The only way I've seen so far is to export them to excel (or another similar) and merge, sort/remove duplicates and then reimport... It was a faff...
