These look fun.
Ambrosia was also a big one and ugh. I always avoided that.
I will still demolish spinach dip in a loaf of pumpernickel, though.
Lol. We're Canadian, so Caesars are definitely being consumed.
Hahaha. Oh man. That last one used to come out at all family holidays.
I have! I have two novels that are now off the shelf. Haha.
And I'm good, thanks. I'm pretty chill. I write out outlines by hand so I can reference easily without switching screens, and use styles in Libre.
I've tried things like scrivener but I like to keep it simple.
Thanks!
We'll see how it goes!
Looks like my boox will work with my wired keyboard (moonlander). So that's cool.
Oooooh. I'm all ears!
Oooooh! That is fun.
I looked into OCR but I don't think it works well for that, based on what I've read.
I am going to look into if my boox is able to do word processing. I think that with a bluetooth keyboard is probably my best bet at this point, unless I wish to spend $$.
Oh, that's amazing.
It is! I've been embracing more tangible, physical things of late and moving away from screens/computers when I can.
I'm handwriting the first draft of my current book, for instance, but it does have to become digital at some point, so I'm trying to find a way that still embodies the same spirit.
I wonder if my boox can do that...
Oh, that's fun.
My programming skills are limited to basic Python for Ren'Py, haha. I'd have to recruit someone to do it for me.
And doesn't require a tablet or phone as the screen.
Essentially, I want something that is distraction-free.
Yeah. I used the term word processor because in the late 80s they had those digital typewriters that they called word processors. My mom had one and I used it for papers in grade school. Guess that's not really analogue. lol
But yeah, something like that but sends an .odt/.doc/.txt somewhere
Does that even exist?
Is something like the AlphaSmart the only thing?
Anyone have any good recs for an analogue writing processor that exports a digital file?

If it's not a murder mystery whodunnit style, it is safe to assume I have not watched it, movie or TV show.
If music is on a pop chart it is safe to assume I have never heard it.
A lot of stuff I only know about through memes.
First drafts are usually pretty bad. Editing is where the craft comes in, and you can learn that by joining critique groups and writers forums.
Just write. Be brave. Do the thing despite the fear. The world will not end. You will not die. You're safe.
Push your ego aside and enjoy the process.
If someone gave me money to just do things creatively for the heck of it I'd just turn into Tom Bombadil and be happy as could be.
And anyone who does recommend that to me gets a scrunched up face of disgust followed by a "Hell no" from me.
And if I hear someone suggest that to someone else I care about I talk to them privately about it, to share my experience so if they do do it, they can learn from my mistakes.
Being a content creator on top of having a job was the worst time of my life, mentally. I will never ever do that again.
Now I make stuff for work and enjoy hobbies for the sake of them. I intentionally keep things separate. I now have joy in my life.
I don't rec' turning a hobby into a product.
Easy.
I'm learning how to play the cello already, because I want to learn.
I garden because I like to garden.
I make soap because I enjoy the process.
I write songs to sing to my dogs because it makes me laugh.
I am learning to sew my own clothes because I like fashion.
I'd just do more.
Yeah. GTA is about 4 hrs of driving. More with traffic.
Greater Toronto Area.
It's been so interesting to watch this unfold. Barnes & Noble and other big book chains shut indies down in the the 1990s (and on) and then Amazon came along and ate up all the book market share. Now people tired of big corporations are creating demand for more indies
