sorry, sometimes I am accidentally too serious πŸ˜…

realistically, because it's git, it's not a single point of failure. and in practice if you are any amount of serious with nix, you have your own copy of nixpkgs repo locally anyway (though other people's workflow with flakes is likely to differ from mine, I never use flakes to package software)

AUR doesn't have a PR review process, anyone can put absolutely anything, so it's too much of a wild west for comfort.

But how is it harder? With the monorepo if you ever packaged anything you can update or package anything else by just submitting a pull-request, no need to clone another repo, fork another repo. Plus you or your agent can refer to all other packages similar to yours right there for inspiration.

thanks, I remember that I was reading this "java assembly" many times before, but then I was like "but jvm doesn't have a standard text version of the bytecode". now i remember that i was just reading it in android disassembly listings

just use a flake with 2 nixpkgs inputs and pin them separately. added benefit is you know the exact version of nixpkgs that had a working version. i actually absolutely love the fact that it's a monorepo - it makes it much easier to snapshot when needeed, and makes it much easier to contribute.

I accidentally went too far with a joke today, decompiled Svakom controller app and now we have a rich Discord presence for my Svakom Emma Neo 2 wand, that looks completely innocent until you know what it is πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… Γ‰tude is the pattern, p-ffff is how strong it is, and con/senza fuoco is heating on/off

Australian government is more picky in this regard. Also last time I checked Australia wasn't in the EU, so I would need a work visa. Eh, anyway, at least we are far enough from everyone else in case WW3 gets worse

your account doesn't make sense - it's pretty much just "me too" replies to random people, incoherent reposts, one only fans-style post, and "real estate investment" of all things? you might be "real and genuine in whatever you do" whatever that means, but it's not a normal person's account

you are not a human account, are you?

i assume they only want Danish citizens working there? Honestly Denmark is such a dream place to live and work

2 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

i didn't know Danish government used Clojure, that's pretty cool! As for Nubank I wouldn't be surprised if there were a handful of us there since it's big (I'm not there though). @lambduhhh.bsky.social is likely to know though

a screenshot of the `top` utility with 4 sections, all using different colours, columns and sorting. topmost one is showing the forest view. it's barely configured yet as the bottom 3 windows aren't configured to my needs yet, they just look pretty for the demo for now.

today I accidentally learned that `top` isn't really archaic, and it actually fits my needs better than htop, btop or anything else. I didn't know it had 256 colours, multiple windows/tabs, forest view, highlights, filtering, accessible help, custom inspect functionality, and god knows what else.

not in the "unix login shell" sense, no. I keep zsh there for compatibility purposes. instead all my terminals are configured to run 'zsh -i -c nu'

Watching gpt-5.3-codex work is eerie. It just one-shot codex subscription support in gptel with full oauth flow, migration to responses api and all. I love it but it's terrifying

you can try to just go to the terminal, do "unset DISPLAY" and then do "gimp" to start gimp. without the DISPLAY environment variable the app won't be able to connect to X11/Xwayland, forcing it to use Wayland

4 months ago 0 0 0 0

are those apps running natively or on Xwayland?

or as a horrible solution you can run Xnest, your game under it, and use xdotool

An unexpected benefit of using #PaperWM (or other scrollers for that matter) is that you can adjust the height of everything simultaneously. So now I have a toggle for when cats decide to visit me πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Accidentally ended up at Uniqlo's event about their bratops, and they are giving away one for a social media post:) Normally I wouldn't do it, but I actually already have like 3 of those bratops and they are really great, so I don't mind giving them a bit of publicity for it :)

I learned jujutsu yesterday (version control system, not martial arts :)) and have been trying it out today on a new project. I never had any issues with git and even made some tools for it (see git-upstream), but my god, jj is freaking amazing. Very highly recommend to try it (it is git-compatible)

"Don't Stop, Girlypop!" is peak transfem culture at its best. Though it was a bit janky until I configured controls and gyro on the Steam Deck, the actual game gameplay is solid and is a ton of fun! Highly recommend to try for anyone who likes high speed shooters!

that one only have "Nix" in it, and adding just "nix" to the filter pulls in a metric ton of unrelated stuff, you can see for yourself if you try to search "nix" in the UI
