Eric Wilkinson, 2025 Leadbeater's Possum (Gymnobelideus leadbeateri), "Walert" in the Taungurung and Woi Wurrung languages, was proclaimed Victoria's Faunal Emblem in 1971 and is considered critically endangered.

Also very significant about this area is that it is where the Leadbeater's Possum was rediscovered in 1961

Earlier in late January I went for a short walk along the Cumberland Circuit Track in Cambarville, 20km East of Marysville. These images are of a small section of rainforest near where the trail crosses the Cumberland Creek. #GFNP
