The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.

This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.

It would just take 23 republicans to stop the madness; where are they hiding?!!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s statement: Marjorie Taylor Greene's amendment does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza. Of course I voted against it. What it does do is cut off defensive Iron Dome capacities while allowing the actual bombs killing Palestinians to continue. I have long stated that I do not believe that adding to the death count of innocent victims to this war is constructive to its end. That is a simple and clear difference of opinion that has long been established. I remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza.

I see the misinformation machine is kicking up to support Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Israel amendment.

Advocates have a responsibility to be clear about what legislation does and doesn’t do. Her amendment did NOT cut off offensive aid to Israel. We shouldn’t pretend it does.

My statement on it:

If you’re zip-tying grandmas protesting losing health care maybe you’re not the good guys in the story?

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.

Images of tanks pulling up for a huge PARADE that NO ONE asked for that will cost money & take military personnel away from more important things at a time when Americans are being told we don’t have money for food & healthcare seems wild to me.

Let me make this simple:

1) People have been fired - our economy & governmental services have been interrupted because of the firings.
2) The proposed budget includes - cuts to federal worker’s benefits, cuts to Medicaid, cuts to food assistance, & deep tax cuts for the RICH,
