Just placed my order for this wonderful book and I cannot wait until it arrives at my house!

I virtually attended Marie Foley’s Making Sense Of Words With Morphology micro workshop, and I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to “discover how visual narrative and Structured Word Inquiry can help students make sense of the writing system.” www.mariefoleyreading.com/workshops
I will absolutely buy this the second it comes out!
The Easter holidays are here, so I have a copy of Primary Reading Simplified to give away.
Just **repost** this post to have a chance to win.
The winner will be selected 19th April.
We are just going to have to agree to disagree. I’m not sure how you think IDA Ontario is the problem here. Without them we have zero organizations promoting structured literacy. How is less advocacy more helpful?
I work with many kids with dyslexia and I don’t know any parents who oppose IDA Ontario. They are the only Ontario organization providing structured literacy resources. Do I wish every teacher could be OG trained? Yes. Is that feasible right now? No.
I don’t know why you think every single ONlit resource must include all of the elements of structured literacy. I think Onlit’s goal is to create helpful resources for teachers to use. They are not pretending OG training/other structured literacy training isn’t beneficial for teachers to take.
I really don’t understand your comment. There is nothing in the course that I took that does not fall under the Knowledge and Practice Standards. I am Orton-Gillingham Associate level trained, and I fully support IDA Ontario’s services. They are helping a lot of teacher and students.
I am in love with my new grapheme-phoneme and morphology card decks from Liisa Freure at Fundamental Learning.
The Canada Post strike is ending tomorrow so now is the perfect time to order your very own card decks! store.funlearning.ca

“A one-time meeting and a box of materials won’t cut it. [Teachers] need learning opportunities, resources and in-class coaching. And they should not have to spend their own time and money seeking out training.”

Loving my new decodable books from the SyllaSense Black Friday weekend sale! #onted
I like that you can complete it in any order you want and that you have access forever! And it’s a really good price.
I’ve heard amazing things about SyllaSense decodables…so I took advantage of their Black Friday deals and ordered myself some books! I cannot wait to use them with my tutoring students (and I love supporting Ontario businesses!) #onted #structuredliteracy
YES. Circe is unbelievable. Song of Achilles is wonderful, too.
Dyslexia is not as uncommon as we might think- between 15-20% of students have reading disabilities, such as #dyslexia.
This handbook for teachers, “Dyslexia in the Classroom: What Every Teacher Needs to Know”, should be mandatory reading in every teacher training program.

I always loved Prince Caspian!
I was not prepared for how giant this book would be! Thanks again to the Ontario College of Teachers library for shipping this big old book to me. #onted #scienceofreading
Isn’t it amazing? My students were the exact same…they became obsessed with looking up words in our word origins dictionary and they would hunt for morphemes in books so they could add them to our morphology wall!
I did my OG training with her, too! She’s so great!
Doing a deep dive on grammar this evening with the always amazing Liisa Freure. If you’ve never taken a course with her you are definitely missing out!
I’ve done the Reading Simplified Academy and I agree that it’s got some great activities! Thanks for the suggestion :)
What instruction do students need before they can write a paragraph or a story? A LOT!!

I'm not sure how feeds differ from lists here, but if you would like some curated #SOR #ScienceOfReading content, I do have two lists! One with researchers only (including some adjacent to SOR) and one with SOR researchers plus practitioners. You can pin either list if desired (links below). #EduSky
A reminder to all of my #onted teachers that the OCT library has a lot of great structured literacy books that can be shipped (for free!) right to your door. I’ve been meaning to read this one for awhile!
Do any of my wonderful structured literacy/science of reading people know of any upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals for great literacy resources? Looking to buy some decodable texts and teacher books for myself! #scienceofreading #structuredliteracy #edusky
Highly recommend @IDA_Ontario's Basics of Decoding and Spelling Instruction course. It's very affordable, asynchronous, and you have access to the course forever! #onted #structuredliteracy #SOR #edusky
