Despite marginally shorter hospital wait times (about 27 minutes less for an emergency room visit), Americans die 4 years younger on average than people in comparable countries with single payer health care.

Being able to access and afford health care when they need it is far and away the number one concern shared by most Americans. Isn’t it about time something was done about this? #MedicareForAll

Post from @binkybrain: "My wife has cancer, it took 5 months to wipe out 20 years of life savings and that was with insurance. The experience has turned me into a hateful, bitter person. We did everything we were told. We went to college, got degrees, avoided credit card debt, spent wisely, saved a nice chunk of money in savings accounts and retirement accounts and minded our business. The USA healthcare system took all of our savings and retirement and forced us to refinance our house so that we lost 15 years of equity. This is a country I'm supposed to be proud of? I hate this system and anyone that defends it."

No one should be financially ruined because of cancer. No other Western country has a healthcare system that bankrupts people because they are sick. The system must be changed. #MedicareForAll.

Donald Trump has made it clear: we can either have a government that provides #MedicareForAll or a government that launches a war with Iran. Which one would you rather see fully funded?

I’m no great fan of the ACA.

I believe we should guarantee health care as a human right through a single-payer Medicare for All system.

But — at minimum — we cannot allow Republicans to destroy our already-broken system by doubling insurance premiums for 20 million Americans.

This government shut down is all about whether Republicans will get away with raising health care premiums by 75% for 20 million Americans and throwing 15 million people off their health care.

We can't allow that to happen.

HEADS UP: The massive federal budget deficits caused by Trump’s tax breaks for billionaires in his big, ugly bill could trigger automatic cuts to Medicare for the rest of us if Congress does not act, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office reported.

What do these healthcare corporations have in common?

Anthem
Centene
CVS
HCA Holdings
Humana
Cigna
Universal Health Services

They avoided $34 BILLION in taxes while hiking costs, denying care, and cutting staff.

Corporate tax cuts don't help anyone but CEOs and shareholders.

Happy Labor Day! As we celebrate & honor the workers & unions who fought (and keep fighting) for the protections we have — though attacked by privatization & authoritarianism — we know that one tremendous victory is still ahead for the Labor Movement: guaranteed comprehensive healthcare for all.

Happy #LaborDay! While big corporations like UnitedHealth Group profit off of our broken health care system, workers and their families endure higher costs and lower quality care.

Our health care system is close to collapse.

Not enough doctors, nurses or dentists.

Costs are skyrocketing.

Trump’s legislation will cause hospitals, nursing homes & community health centers to cut back services.

We need a simple, universal system: Medicare for All.

You can also fight for single-payer healthcare aka Medicare for All! Comprehensive coverage —

medical
dental
vision
hearing
mental health
repro. health (incl. abortion + gender-affirming care)
long-term

— with no out-of-pocket expenses, not tied to age, family, employment, or documentation.

Medicaid was signed into law 60 years ago. Trump's big bill is chiseling it back This summer, President Donald Trump has begun to chisel back Medicaid and food stamps. On a July day in 1965, President Lyndon B.

It rips health care away from 10M+ Americans on Medicaid, all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires like Elon Musk.
