Hon. Stephen Harper

Hon. Stephen Harper

ā€œI believe members of Parliament should have that freedom and be accountable to their constituents for their decisions at the next election. However, in my observation, the only parties that really have this as an obsession are the parties that no one ever crosses toā€

And I thought it would take a bell, book and candle to get him to leave.

MP’s remain in caucus at the pleasure of party leadership, and can be kicked out of caucus at their whim.

Is that a betrayal of democratic norms and an insult to voters?

Or just Westminster rules at work?

Enough. Cons would be celebrating if the floor crossings were going the other way.

The only reason I can see for PP staying is that nobody else wants to stick their neck out, and spar with the intellectual powerhouse that is Mark Carney.

PP is the Perfect Patsy.

Farce-book post showing Rebel News in Sarnia looking for some angry opinions

Farce-book post showing Rebel News in Sarnia looking for some angry opinions

Rebel News, up to their usual tricks, in Sarnia today.

Agree that Marilyn could do a better job of communicating her decisions to us lowly constituents, but the last thing we need is Rebel News cosplaying as a news outlet.

Mr Scheer is ā€œunencumbered by a higher educationā€

Didn’t the IMF just project Canada to have the second fastest growing economy in the G7 ?

Well, why let facts get in the way of a good story

So . . . .
Any chance the Jays become the team that was last place one season, then World Series the next, and then back to last place again?

I mean, it would help if they could like drive in a run every now and then.

The only ā€œdirty backroom dealā€ I saw last year was when PP lost his own seat in the general election, and the MP for Battle River-Crowfoot was persuaded to give up his seat for PP to have a do-over, in exchange for a nice cushy consulting gig in Toronto

Her constituency newsletter last month talked about the government wasting money with their challenge that the Emergency Measures Act was needed to clear out the convoy occupation

And referred to the occupation as extremely peaceful

She does make a good point that if the country is going to kick off infrastructure projects, she wants to be a part of it.
And Sarnia-Lambton too, I guess

Her notable MP activity:
- constant criticisms of anything Liberal
- pushing conversion therapy, and declaring that a petition with 169 signatures gave her the support of ā€œthe majority of churches and faith groups ā€œ in the riding
- introducing a bill to declare December as ā€œChristian Heritage Monthā€

Wasn’t it like 2 weeks ago that she was standing up in Commons, complaining about ā€œdirty backroom dealsā€ as the only explanation for Conservatives crossing the floor ??

I remember the time Rick Mercer brought his one-man show to town. After the show, he stays behind for pictures with anybody who wants one

And Marilyn stayed too - not to talk to him, but to photo-bomb every picture. Every. Single. One.

Ugh

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this . . .

Yes, it’s great new for PM Mark Carney and the rest of the Liberals

But Marilyn is my MP.
And I have worked with her previously, in engineering.

I think of her as more of an elitist and opportunist, rather than a voice of the people
