Fascism is merely conservatism on steroids in the killing department. Hindenburg himself, your counter example was a war general in WW1, which, I skimmed some of your other writings, you point out in an October piece was a war in which leadership was overly obsessed with lethality.
Like I get what you are trying to do, youโre trying to write a think piece but letโs not pretend that fascism equals millions of deaths and conservatism is none. They are in some kind of spectrum and killing civilians is inextricably intertwined with both.
This statement is grossly under estimates the number of both direct and indirect civilian deaths from US action since WWII which is anywhere from 7 million and 13 million deaths with around 2 million civilian deaths from direct action attributable to the US military.
