Reinvesting nearly $1B into oil, gas, and LNG instead of wind energy is a loss for taxpayers. In 2025, U.S. LNG exports already cost Americans $12B in added energy expenses—or $124 more per household—and almost $1B a year in health-related pollution costs.

TotalEnergies' cancelled offshore wind projects mean Americans will lose out on $2.8 billion in energy bill savings by 2035—or about $19 for every megawatt hour of electricity they use at home.

The Trump Administration will use $1B in taxpayer money to cancel two offshore wind projects for New Jersey and North Carolina. That’s 4 GW of clean energy, 37,000 jobs, and enough power for 1.3 million homes—all gone.

You could also replace every integrated steel mill in the country with brand new clean iron and steelmaking capacity in the same exact spots, creating 10s of thousands of jobs in the short term and saving 10s of thousands of jobs for a generation...
