It's been sunny and cloudy and wet here this week. Next week looks back to normal for April (dry and sunny).

Thrush atop a tree.

This little chap sings his heart out for 6+ hours in the morning and a further 2 or 3 every evening. Putting a shift in! Here he is on top of a 12 metre tall Spruce yesterday. Background noise is the burn that runs through the forest.

There are some very lovely places to live in the NW Highlands. This is one of them! (It's Loch Long, and it's tidal, so technically this is the North Atlantic).

Out of interest, they split their time between here and the Hebrides. Seen as south as Mull, and as north as the top of Lewis.

I was watching them and they flew out towards the Inner Sound (The young one is no longer on the nest). You'll note from all my pics and vids, I don't fly over the island, but knowing they weren't there I sent the drone over. Apart from anything else, they would destroy my tiny drone in a heartbeat!

Just got back from one of our fave walks along that banks of the River Elchaig (and a picnic breakfast). Well worth the 100 mile round trip!

Low cloud, green sea.

At certain times, with the light and the tides just right, the lochs with sandy seabeds can turn an almost fluorescent green.

Bertie always has to break a Frisbee's neck to make sure it's dead before he drops it at your feet to be thrown again.

The artic finally found somewhere wide enough to park up and let the wide load pass. Took a while! Not the best reversing I've ever seen, but downhill round bends with traffic coming from behind, t'was a bit of a nightmare for him.

Today it is mostly cold, breezy but sunny in the NW Highlands. Lots and lots of blue.
