That doesn't change the fact that the Iranian regime is a horrific violator of human rights.
Just like you don't have to hand it to white nationalists, you also don't have to hand it to regimes which just recently murdered thousands of their own citizens.

There's a lot of confusion swirling so it may help to explain that the below is actually fairly normal following an ICE arrest. ICE often transfers people to the deep South where some of the largest detention centers are located, and the ICE Detainee Locator system can take up to 24 hours to update.

He was not disappeared. He's being transferred to a prison in Louisiana. It happens all the time and ICE sucks at notifications. It's very bad! There's a lot of shady shit going on here! But it's not a "disappearance"
Based on experiences in other countries (🇭🇺🇮🇳🇹🇷), I am not so optimistic. Many far-right supporters expect all politicians to be corrupt, including their own, and accept corruption of their politicians as long as they deliver on other issues/punish “the Other”.
I have a totally different view of median voter sentiment, which is they are wholly tolerant of corruption so long as they feel like they’re getting something out it.

Concur. AOC, Pritzker and Jasmine Crockett just need to start telling Democrats what to do. People want to be led. They're begging for leaders. And current Democratic leadership is derelict.

A Russian puppet committed to empowering Putin and weakening the West would not have acted differently from Trump and Vance today. “Betrayal” does not capture the scope of the evil we saw. Our president is allying the nation with an enemy of democracy and human rights while double-crossing our ally.
Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.
