Wife: Do you have friends at daycare?
Son: No they're all bad
Wife: I saw you all playing together.
Son: Zombi game. Zombi chasing everyone. Don't like Zombi game.
Wife: Why now?
Son: Want real Zombi! Attack everyone!!!

But he insisted
"Elevator broken: get pizza"
I love the way kids' brains work.
He also went through a phase where if he didn't want to go somewhere he would try to convince us it was closed because that is how we explained why we couldn't go to the library some days.
"Get pizza for mommy!" And I couldn't argue with that logic so we got pizza to bring home for dinner.
This week my wife was bringing him home and when they got to the subway station our kid goes
"Elevator broken!"
My wife was confused and tried to explain that the elevator wasn't broken
One was for a Pizza Pizza and he was like "want pizza"after we read the sign. So I took him to a nearby Pizzavill and we got the individual slices and had a picnic.
Last week the elevator to the subway platform was broken so we had to walk and when we passed the Pizzavill he says
So we live on a subway line and will sometimes walk and sometimes take the subway to drop our kid off at daycare. We usually take the subway in the winter.
Last automne on a nice day we were walking and our 2 year old was really interested in the latter's on the signs so I helped him sign them out
The funniest inside joke my wife and I have is that when we're measuring scoops for baking or stuff, instead of asking if the scoops are heaping or level we ask "Would Fanny Farmer approve?"
Wife: every time I need lemon juice for baking I'm always left with so much lemon juice I don't know what to do with.
Me: wait... All these years I thought it was just a metaphor.
Wife: What are you talking about?
Me (pulling out some sugar): I know exactly what we must do!
A pizza with pest sauce turkey pepperoni pineapple and a fried, well baked, egg
Microdosing enemies to lovers by having a make-your-own pizza night and making my wife watch me put pineapple and an egg onto my pizza.
How that prologue went with Alba de Riva, actually😂
(Varric Tethras & Alba de Riva/Rook, 9:52 Dragon)
Varric: "Take care of the team for me."
Alba: *AuDHD dissociating, nodding confusedly*

It's my birthday since 8 minutes ago 🎂✨ here's some of my art to share (as a treat) 🎉🎉🎉
My wife's movie is Silver Skates
It all worked out in the end

We survived the Wycome siege!
reddit post from a presumably young person who watched sex and the city and couldn’t get over how much people smoked indoors. “wouldn’t everything smell bad?” they asked
this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will
Later that night...
My kid understands that when a place is "closed" it means we can't go there but doesn't understand that something being "open/closed" is independent of our plans.
So sometimes he'll say something like "Home closed, library open!"
One of the most Video Game things I did in my TTRPG was have an NPC the heroes helped previously show up with a bunch of Health and Mana potions right before the end

Taash would actually fall under my definition of "representation that matters" because their story can't be avoided or ignored, and it's all about asserting their identity.
Dragon Age TTRPG Shenanigans:
OH MY GOD. CAPTAIN HANDSOME (our Templar NPC) IS PROPOSING TO ANXIETY MAGE.
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ALIENAGE AFTER BATTLE.
Dragon Age TTRPG Shenanigans:
Okay handfasting delayed because, erm...
We lost Velanna and had to do a quick funeral. Not cool handfasting someone basically on top of her body, you know?
And then she starts to tell me the AU of how Isseya wont be a monster, the griffons will all be a big happy family again and the wardens won't be sick anymore, and yeah no DNA test needed, that's my babys first fix-it-fic 😭❤️❤️
Could that be more than coincidence? Was June giving Darkspawn knowledge of crafting? Without Elger'nan will there be no more Alphas? Without Ghili'nain are Broodmothers a thing of the past? Did Darkspawn have more powers in the past? Is that why each Blight was shorter than the previous one?
@ghildirthalen.bsky.social so I've been wondering how much influence the different Evenuris had over the Blight. Like in Origins we see a Genlock Forgmaster but after Uthemriel (and we assume June) dies we don't see Darkspawn crafters anymore.
