Good alumni isn’t necessarily the one who donates the most, it’s the one who supports the students and higher ed workers there and cares about their well being

Honestly for me the WHA is where I feel safe and I belong, and unfortunately this doesn’t happen in every academic space. Because of all the great people there it’s always very welcoming and engaging, and it encourages me to work hard on my projects so that I can bring them next time.
I got to know tons of people throughout this and now I go to the WHA and I have SO MANY folks to say hi! It’s great because I met so many awesome people that I get in touch with regularly and I truly feel like I belong there
TLDR: it’s an amazing opportunity you should do it

A thanks to @rmclas-conference.bsky.social 2026 for recognizing my Conflict and Correspondence from @univnebpress.bsky.social with an Honorable Mention for the Thomas Mcgann best book in Latin American History. #Skystory #history #mexico #Guadalajara
Eye opening not because I was unfamiliar with how things work in my country but because I never thought about parking this way! If you park on the street there you just get towed. There is few truly “free” parking there

I wish I could go - I know Otori san well and she traveled all the way from Japan for this panel!!
Of course I’m rooting for fellow Japanese players. Such as Sugano.
Let’s go……Rockies!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!
FOMO is so real when it comes to conference…
Will ask someone who’s gonna be there!! I won’t be there unfortunately
Ahh my mom used to say that. I might say the same thing if someone is putting ranch on sashimi or something, lol. But salt on your rice is fine imo. If you put some black sesame seeds together then that’s goma shio. That’s some humble furikake situation. 🍚
Because of a lot of things in the world right now (I’m a noncitizen), I delete my posts frequently but I hope you understand it doesn’t have anything to do with you/your comment
Hi y’all followed me after this post which I didn’t think would be this popular (my posts are never that popular). This isn’t a food / cooking type of account and my posts are mostly about grad school, history, labor, and occasional rant about the world around me. Just so you know…
Paging Karen Bass
Is your wife Japanese? That’s exactly how I used to think! I recently watched this J drama called Hirayasumi and they make katsu just for sando. And I thought, that’s a really good way to live. You’d like to have a katsu sando so you make it, nothing complicated.
Aw thanks!! Honored to be introduced … hehe
@nellstra.bsky.social can I show off my latest work
The bread I used here which I got from a Japanese bakery is super squishy so you can just pick it up 😌
Thanks!
Imposter syndrome and all the other horrible things are so real but hey at least I can cook food that tastes good
Three pieces of pork cutlet sandwich with coleslaw in a bento box
Life sucks but you made your katsu sando for late lunch and put it in a box like a school lunch bento. I think when life gets hard I cook more Japanese food because it’s so grounding in a way that reminds me of how far I’ve come instead of what I can’t do or my shortcomings
Ahh I know 😭 when I saw it in our latam mailing list I got so excited I was like I KNOW HER SHE’S GREAT but then found out it’s in person only 🥲 I hope you enjoy your time in Tokyo!
