I'd say, use it! Though whatever you choose, I'd keep the use of paragraphing, the lack of which makes reading Richard Burton's Arabian Nights so taxing for me. Though I suppose you might have to decide if you'll use long block paragraphing or short staccato paragraphing with dialogue line breaks.

Well, just recall that according to the Red Book, Samwise Gamgee's original name was Banazรฎr (Ban) Galbasi, which Tolkien translated into Samwise (Sam) Gamgee. Which is better? Samwise or Banazรฎr? Galbasi or Gamgee? I honestly don't know.

Nothing quite like the smell of pine in early spring sun wafting on the winds with bird twitters and insect humming.
I think so too! I only learned of it when I lived in Japan decades ago now (and pilgrimaged to Hiroshima, the center of Japanese Protestantism, and Nagasaki, the center of Japanese Catholicism).
Very few, if any, of these politicians have that level of education and consecration.
Like an Episcopal priest I know has said, don't talk about theology unless you have at least a PhD (and even better if you have a PhD and are ordained).
Listening now to it tonight before sleep.
Nishizaka Hill Catholic Church in Nagasaki, Japan, honoring the 26 Martyrs, with its unique architecture
One of my favorite Catholic Churches -- Nishizaka Hill in Nagasaki, Japan, honoring the 26 Martyrs.
Please keep them! Don't be like Tolkien with his Tom, Bert, and Bill Huggins and Frank Herbert with his Jessica and Paul.
I've loved this song for years! I've never listened to the 10-hour version though!
That's happening to me too, and I barely post anything and last week deleted most of what I had previously posted. How are people even finding me, I wonder?
Last evening had to go to the Jeep to get something the Child accidentally left. Startled by the bright clarity of the stars and the crescent of moon in the deep, dark, crisp ocean of sky above.
Finally, all of this is wonderfully, beautifully complex, especially since the ideas that the Universe and all within it are emanations of God (whether God is aware of this or not) and that God is continually creating are the dominant Eastern ideas rather than God creating everything out of nothing.
Joseph Campbell in his Masks of God series points out that even Dante's vision of Paradise in the Divine Comedy is indebted to the ideas found in the writings of Muslim philosophers.
And Western Christians first were introduced to these ideas via Muslim and Jewish writings that came out of medieval Spain.
Well, as Karen Armstrong explains, Western Christians had to play catch-up with Muslims, Jews, and Eastern Christians who centuries before Aquinas formulated these kinds of philosophical and mystical ideas of God primarily because they had direct access to Greek philosophy which Westerners did not.
in her "A History of God." If only more people had access to these medieval ideas, from the God as Being Itself to God as Non-being and Nothingness--for, I think, too many Westerners, including atheists, still think of God as some kind of Supreme Being or Super Ego that is hard to accept any more.
Karen Armstrong expertly analyzes the many ways of viewing God, including the staunchly anthropomorphic physicality of early Israelite faith, Aquinas's God as Being Itself, and the utter incomprehensibility of God's non-being and nothingness in medieval Islamic philosophy and Eregina's Catholicism
1) Yes.
2a) Yes, I wear it handed.
2b) Mostly out of habit because I was taught that way by my parents, but also because I can't wear anything on my dominant hand when I write, type, or paint because the things on my wrist catch on the edge of the table, computer keyboard, etc., and that bothers me.
Photo of a snow covered, frozen lake. A set of human tracks makes a long, straight trail through the snow. Land (shoreline on far side of lake) can be seen in the distance. The sky is clear/blue.

The Geometric Wisdom of Genkล-an The Satori no mado, or "Window of Enlightenment," at the Zen Buddhist temple of Genkล-an in Kyoto, offers a profound visual metaphor for the Zen path. This circular window is designed to represent the "Zen Circle," symbolizing the universe, completeness, and the enlightened mind. Through the dark, wooden frame, the viewer observes a vibrant garden of autumn maples, their red and green foliage providing a seasonal focal point that underscores the Buddhist concept of impermanence. The architectural placement of the window invites a meditative stillness, encouraging a transition from the cluttered thoughts of the ego to a state of clear, circular awareness. The structural clarity of this circular form mirrors the geometric discipline found throughout Japanese artistic and ritual history.

All this time, the life you were supposed to live has been rising around you like the walls of a house designed with warm harmonious lines. As if you had actually planned it that way. As if you had stacked up bricks at random, and built by mistake a lucky star. ~from Northern Oracle (Spout Press, 2007)

"Oh, but how could I become enlightened?"
Don't excuse yourself with such despondency!
The Buddha, who declares the truth,
Has truly spoken and proclaimed
That if they bring forth strength of perseverance,
Even bees and flies
And gnats and grubs will gain
Supreme enlightenment so hard to find.

A few months ago I attended a small gathering for the "Spirit of Justice." It describes itself as "a spiritual home for those who dare to dream of a just and loving world." It is co-organized by the wonderful Michelle Alexander & Nyle Fort. It now has a landing page. There's more to come.
