As a student, I’ve had almost no funds to buy new equipment or books. Living life as close to β€œopen-source” as possible. Thrift stores, free items, recycling. I had a goal, there was a barrier, I found a way.
If hacking has taught me anything, it’s to be relentless and determined. #lifelessons

Life update; I’m moving.
It’s unexpected and sudden, and the logistics are wild.

That being said, my relocation is fairly fluid.
If anyone in the aerospace field needs a cybersecurity/network engineer, I will relocate to you and make some magic happen! πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’»

Help needed: *Maltego*

I’m trying to learn OSINT, and part of that involves some crypto (not BTC) & Maltego. Lots of good content on YT, but I have some questions I haven’t found solutions for.

Anyone here open to some questions on how to use the tool?

All that matters is that you learn! However you do it, as long as you do it, is the right way!

2025 is all gas, no brakes.
Starting the year with a research paper that may lead to a full time position. Started studying for CCNA, still tracking towards OSCP. ISS tracker, HAM stuff. Homelab is semi-operational. Last night I found my way into the old iPads terminal.

10 years ago I wanted to get my HAM license because I was doing SAR/off-road. Then some really bad stuff happened, I almost died, some more bad stuff happened, and then it went on the back burner.

10 long years later - I had an opportunity to sit in on a class and finally do it.
I did it.

Holidays are finally over, and it’s time to get back to business. Made some cupcakes for a Christmas party, and started working on my HAM license! #HAM #Christmas #BackToBusiness

I’d say a little harder than Vbox, but more like KVM. Metasploitable was weird because I had to convert the file to qcow2 but aside from that it took less than 3 minutes! All command line, quick and easy.

Hell yeah! I use VB for my desktop VMs, was hesitant to switch but I’m really enjoying ProxMox. The UI in the web portal is SO simple to use.

Oh, I most definitely will. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Server: Alive.
Proxmox: Configured.
Metasploitable: Virtualized.
Network: Operational.

The fact that all of this works is magical, and I’m enjoying it because I know as soon as VLANs and containers get involved - it’s not going to work. πŸ˜‚

Finally found 10 minutes to play with my servers and get my monitor in the network rack.
She lives!
Now; what do I turn it into?! 😈

LFI, XSS, and module hijacking today. I also started printing random trinkets for my desk, so that’s going to become a problem at some point.

Thank you!! I need to take a break from HTB for a bit so I will jump on QUCS. I’m a visual learner so that will help a TON!

100%. I’m using it as OSCP prep to familiarize myself with topics. Being able to dig through retired machines and plan my studies subject by subject has been the biggest contributor to my improvement. I’d pay double if they asked.

Agreed; but Jon has some absolutely FANTASTIC explanations that are excellent for building foundational knowledge. Dude had me disassembling things 2 days after I got the book and I had never touched assembly once before. 100/10 IMO

This, but I’m from the desert where all we have is dirt.

That being said - yes; the inside of my jeep has in fact been completely covered in sand because of said experience πŸ˜‚πŸ€˜πŸ»

Typical circuits used in RF comms! Learning about op amps specifically! I absolutely need to get some electrical reference material - I will check it out!

Today’s hacker activities include the *simplest* priv esc I have *ever done*. CVE-2019-14287 is ridiculous.

Side note; peep my first 3D prints πŸŽ‰
