Si no hay más discusión ética y políticas basadas en evidencia e investigación sobre cómo se están desplegando estas tecnologías y cómo reorientarlas, volamos hacia un futuro incluso más distópico tipo Altered Carbon donde tendremos que luchar por el derecho a no ser revividos digitalmente etc.
Si no aprendemos a valorar que la vida y el presente son únicos e irrepetibles y no aprendemos a despedirnos y a dejar ir, que no se puede tener ni experimentar ni vivir todo, se caerá redondito en este apetito inagotable de presencia (artificial) perpetua....

At the moment it feels like most of our energies are being deployed to undo and/or ameliorate the negative consequences of irresponsible/unethical/erroneous GenAI use and deployment- humans scrambling to figure out how to undo the growing damage.
Sadly, and perhaps unsurprisingly, if I had to sum up the effects so far of widely available GenAI tools in higher education and scholarship, I'd say in my experience they are proving to be mostly negative: more unnecessary work, more frustration.
(Not talking about AI as an academic field).
