"Before Sunday, Odegaard had only been available for about 37 per cent of Arsenal’s league minutes this season yet the captain ranks fourth for chances created from open play. Saka is top, followed by Rice." [Times]

You are completely right. Missing both Saka, Öde and Merino during the run in has been crucial. Let alone Timber and Calafiori. We need Saka and Timber back ASAP, then we have a good chance of making it.

I thought Arteta managed that game really well with the players he had available and their fitness. Tried to win the game with the sprinters. When that wasn’t working, brought on the possession guys and completely killed the game. Done, and on we go.

Arteta: There is a reason why we are the only English team in this competition. This schedule takes the hell out of you.

On a night where Rice was visibly crocked (he barely moved in the second half), I'm so pleased for Zubimendi who took a lot of responsibility in midfield. Looked sharp, won his duels, mopped the ball up and grew in possession as the game went on - made some nice forward runs too. He needed that.

I am not 25. For years and years I dreamt of competing in the last 4 of the championship league. When we played great football I was at the Camp Nou (soaking) and the Allianz when we got spanked. This is fucking brilliant….

Say whatever you want about Arteta and Arsenal in big games, not attacking with enough freedom, being too boring, whatever: The man's made back to back CL semi finals with monster injury problems in both seasons

Whatever you think of Gyokeres, we're surely all agreed that playing long balls into him is pretty much a waste of time

Ordinarily don't even bother much about elections elsewhere... But somehow the Hungary election results warmed my heart.

Well done! Good riddance!!

Good choice. I will follow your example. On this place people seem to be much more balanced. Let’s hope and pray for a draw on Sunday.

We lose too many duels. Is it because Bournemouth are fresh without having played a single game for 3 weeks?

Last night Max Dowman broke another record, he became the youngest player ever to play in Champions League knock out phase at the age 16yrs 97 days.

Before him it was Lamine Yamal (16y272d).
