Paul Brand is a decent journalist. Dan Hodges is, well, Dan Hodges.

Yes, suggesting someone should resign for something they didn't do but might have done in different circumstances is a bit bizarre, frankly.
Agree, although still always good to see the far right falling out with each other.

Yes, that's about it.
I think you're both right.
One of the best beer garden views I've encountered!
They're just writing themselves now...

Oh, fair enough then.
Trump could have resumed attacks already (obviously relieved he hasn't) which hopefully suggests he is still looking for a ladder out of the hole he's thrown himself into. A deal vastly inferior to the one Obama sorted long ago seems possible.
It's a long time ago but brings to mind the fuel 'protests' in Britain in about 2001. Still the same "everyone should pay except me" attitude.
Americans don't know the reasons Iran hates the US. In 1951 Iran's democracy elected Mohammed Mossadegh. The CIA & British intelligence staged a coup, installed a dictator who tortured and killed people.
It goes on from there.

What a f*cking waste of lives and money. 😠
The winning. It just never starts...
For how how long have we been told that the US has this fabulous written Constition whereas we do not?
But the US Constitution has been shown to be the emperor with no clothes
It might as well be a blank sheet of paper
It might as well not exist
The US is acting entirely on the whim of one man
It would be funny if they weren't so dangerous.
But after others in the parry initially defended him of course
I guess it depends who you follow on here as to be fair I haven't really seen that but it's a strange argument as if he did become a peer that would effectively ensure he couldn't become PM/leader.
I would guess the main factors would be their previous cheerleading for Trump coming back to bite them and their dire performance in local govt where they've already had a chance to show how they perform in office. I wonder if Lowe's lot are shaving off a % or two as well (as vile as they are).
Some of that will be that they haven't yet forgiven the last Tory govt (eg high immigration, general chaos). Which is another reason why the Tories chasing those voters while being apparently sanguine about losing moderates to the Lib Dems makes little sense.
Possibly more than you'd think - I remember some reports from the Gorton byelection that people were wavering between the two. To the politically engaged on here, thinking left-right makes sense but there are those who just want something different and don't know too much about the detail.
There was a time when all party leaders would cooperate in the national interest, but of course Badenoch wouldn't understand that.
supreme accidental comic timing in Commons just now during PMQs:
Keir Starmer: “there is only one party leader who has shown he will say anything, no matter how divisive, if he is paid to do so”
Speaker (calling the next question): “Nigel Farage”
Badenoch's argument against the mooted energy support package is somewhat odd. Is she suggesting the government subsidises everyone's energy bills at huge cost, even millionaires, as Truss did? If so, how would she pay for this? Of course she'll never answer that. #PMQs
Strange situation where we await a statement from Iran to check whether there's any truth to what US president is saying.
Coffee#1 is great, certainly the best chain in the UK.
Oh my!
That‘s very very funny
Jenrick wearing his new pseudo *sincere ReFuk* Christianity on his sleeve doesn’t known that Palm Sunday is so called because palms were said to have been waved to celebrate Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem just days before his crucifixion.
Jenrick called is “Psalm Sunday”
US Treasury Sec Scott Bessent’s decision to lift sanctions on Iranian oil at sea shows just how badly Trump’s war has failed.
Iran will get $14 billion from the deal, the first time the US is buying Iranian oil since 1996.
Trump’s Omnishambles: lives lost, billions wasted, now he’s paying Iran.
