Scientific poster titled "Are ravens really 'wolf-birds'? Assessing the food-safety trade-off of common ravens feeding in presence of grey wolves and wild boars". The study records the proximity and interactions of wild ravens with captive boars and captive wolves at the Cumberland Wildpark Grünau. The boars are fed daily with bread and pellets, while the wolves are fed with meat. The latter represents a more qualitative food resource but is associated with predators that can be lethal to the ravens. Observations are completed with a flight initiation distance experiment to control for the risk perception in both enclosures. Predictions envision differences in the nature and frequency of interactions between the ravens and heterospecifics (ex: riding the heterospecifics only happening at the boar enclosure; more targeted aggression received from the wolves than from the boars). They also predict a longer time spent in proximity with boars than with wolves.

We investigate the plastic use of social information (SIU) in relation to harsh environments (cold temps.) in a small overwintering passerine. Results suggest SIU may work as a risk-sensitive strategy to get enough food at cold temps. @mathotlab.bsky.social doi.org/10.1098/rsos...
