In the last few weeks I've spoken to two executives at a major streamer - one in adult animation, one in preschool content for both animation and live action - and both basically told me the same thing: they're looking for YouTube success stories with huge subscriber bases. 🧵

Predictions:
-Billy, Maiden, Oasis and Wu-Tang will def perform.
-*If* Phil shows up, he'll perform, but I don't think he'll be well enough to get to the states.
-Would LOVE for Sade and JD+NO to play, but I'm doubtful.
-No idea who does the Vandross tribute, but it'll be a group performance.

-Wu-Tan and Vandross over Mariah and Lauryn, not 'necessarily' mad about.
Honestly, other than Billy Idol, very much higher on this class than last year's.

There are journalists - really good ones - who hate writing.
They fucking love reporting. They tolerate writing. But because they love reporting they do things AI just can't.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
