Revisiting the inventory and I think I finally found a good solution for where to stash the notebook (with collected notes, photos, etc.) 🤔
Maybe I’m overthinking it but giving the inventory backpack a tactile feel really matters to me.

had to create a ton of made up store signs, names, and logos too while making sure none of them already exist 😅. not sure anyone will ever notice.
damn, pinocchio is not fucking around anymore!
and i accidentally bought an anthroposophic soothing balm for a sore eyelid this past weekend and guess what... it didn’t work. Nice architecture though!
Not much to show visually at the moment but I’ve been experimenting with the script graph and state machine to handle the game’s progression logic. Not entirely sure if that's the best approach 🤔 but it works!

children‘s books + weird dreams I had as a kid. best source lol
love the dream-like vibes
An inspiration for my game’s story and themes are old children’s books like this 1960s Pinocchio, illustrated by Martha Pfannenschmid.
Beautiful but strangely haunting drawings that always creeped me out as a kid. 😱

Spent a lot of time refining the full item loop:
👉pick up, select, inspect, and use items on other objects.
Even in slower-paced adventure or horror games I prefer snappy inventory handling over too much friction 😌.

honestly, I was genuinely glad and pleasantly surprised that HW wasn’t just another neo-retro indie resident evil–like. That stuff has gotten so stale for me that I’d completely lost interest. Yours actually felt like it had its own voice and it kinda stuck with me.
Still tangled up in all the inventory stuff… anyway, in the meantime here’s some more early concept art from @lilcthulhu.bsky.social. I still love looking at it 😍.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it. Heartworm was such a unique game. it felt very personal, in some ways it hit almost a bit too close to home but i really enjoyed it
wow that‘s something quite different from Heartworm! curious to see it coming together
i call it „Woodoo - Die Schreckensinsel der Zombies“
i can’t really put my finger on why but that donald duck voice in NYR always freaked me out
well… you know, with all that Peter Thiel stuff going on i‘m also reconsidering atm lol
hm top of the screen feels most natural to me. but always hard to tell without further context 😊
and what are these boxes for exactly?
Reworked the whole inventory system again.
The final asset is a backpack where the items rotate inside. Pretty happy so far with how it’s turning out 😊

wow, this looks ... insanely good.
i‘m shocked you actually have a GDD 😱 love how it looks!
Tweaking the game's look & feel recipe for extra sauce 🧑🍳👌

been following the project’s development for many years and it’s impressive to see how much the character models have improved 👌
currently experimenting with different fog effects 😶🌫️. I’m not quite satisfied yet, but I feel like I’m getting closer to the atmosphere I’m aiming for 😌.

Almost done setting up all the colliders. Glad I’ll finally be able to move on to other things soon 😅.

all i remember about this game is a review in a magazine tearing it to shreds lol
Spent the holidays fine-tuning the camera system and I think it can finally do everything it needs to do. The different rotation and movement modes (and transitioning between them) almost drove me insane 🥲.

it was just a bit too much for me. especially the fighting gauntlets towards the later stages… but yes, the story sold it for me too 😊
the combat is tiresome in this game but i still enjoyed it a lot. i thought the story and atmosphere were superb
