Playing with masks and step/smoothstep values = life
Something I noticed in #diablo4 #vfx - it seems like they use a lot of radial velocity-aligned particles for shockwaves and such. The variation is so much nicer than a static radial texture! Here’s a quick breakdown of the method in #Unity
