Hi, I work as a restoration ecologist and am a graduate student. I make natural history observations and attempt to publish novel findings. I had a note recently published in Herpetological Review 56(2). I am also working on a thesis.
Can you please add me to the feed?

A loggerhead shrike perched on a dead tree snag, looking to the left of frame. There is a cloudy sky in the background.
A loggerhead shrike perched on a dead tree snag, looking to the right of frame with their head over the shoulder, while the body faces left of frame. There is a cloudy sky in the background.
A nice #bird recently seen in a natural area. Shortly after observing, this loggerhead shrike pursued a flying insect and caught it before taking it to a fence to consume.

A view of a natural Florida landscape in Atlantic Ridge Preserve State Park. Saw palmetto, pine, and other shrubs are in the foreground with a wet marsh in the midground before a pine canopy meets the sky in the background. Sky is blue with mostly cloudy cover. Setting is tranquil and lush.
I wanted to share this picture that I had on my camera from my #nature #hiking trip recently. I didn't have this one on my phone and was glad to find it on my camera.
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
Closeup of a rattlesnake master (Eryngium yuccifolium) white flower in bloom with other plants in the background out of focus.
Closeup of a a goldenrod (Solidago sp.) yellow flower in bloom with other plants out of focus in the background.
Closeup of a hairy chaffhead (Trilisa paniculata) purple flower in bloom, with other plants and flowers in the background out of focus.
Closeup of a tickseed (Coreopsis sp.) yellow flower in bloom with other plants surrounding and behind it.
Excellent short hike this morning at Sweetbay Natural Area with the entire family! Tons of wildflowers and frogs were singing in the wetlands despite it being a little chilly. This is the area that was burned over summer and is flushing out nicely! #nature #hiking #wildflowers #flowers
I decided to switch and start tracking my runs with Strava. First run on Strava (second of the year) is a best pace for 4 miles and I’m hoping to push my 5k time below 30min. If anyone is on Strava, I am looking for people to follow #running #fitness

I also ran #running my first half marathon and am looking forward to more races—a triathlon sprint in August is next on the radar. #fitness
My 2025 was a great year personally and professionally. We welcomed a second son, I grew into a perfect role at work, had a note accepted to a scientific journal, and am approaching the end of a Master’s degree. Lots on the horizon and going to keep pushing to improve. #newyears #goals
Last thing we finished this year was @netflix.com ‘s The Great Flood. We really enjoyed this, and it wasn’t what we expected. A good watch.
All caught up on Stranger Things. Waiting for the finale, but mostly watching to close the loop on this story. Likely won’t watch any in-universe continuations, as the plot has overstayed a bit for our taste.
Among the best shows of the year for us. Pluribus continues Apple TV’s trend of excellence. Great concept, acting, and shots.
Finished Survivor 49 with what seemed to be a frustratingly predictable endgame. Looking forward to 50.
And an update: we are now through season 20 of The Amazing Race. Some great seasons and some duds.
Finished the newest season of Apple TV’s The Morning Show. Really love this show, and am a big fan of just about everything this service puts out.
Looking for something to watch, we landed on @netflix.com ‘s The Four Seasons. We watched almost all 8 episodes in one sitting. Very charming and funny show. Love Fey and Carell, wasn’t familiar with the rest of the cast, but they were all amazing.
A poster for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives with the title in top center, with the sub caption “Lead Us Not Into Temptation” but not is struck through. The main characters are in white dresses and blue covers on their arms and back, standing in water. The Hulu logo is in bottom of frame.
We watched Hulu’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 next. It was about as messy as we expected.
A movie poster for Frankenstein that has the title in cursive over the center where the monster is standing on ice in rags looking away from the camera towards a boat stuck in the ice. The top of the poster says “A Film by Guillermo Del Toro” and is subcaptioned “ONLY MONSTERS PLAY GOD”. The release dates and Netflix logo are in bottom center.
Next we watched Frankenstein by @realgdt.bsky.social on @netflix.com it was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. The acting was also great.
We finished up @netflix ‘sThe Residence next, and thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through. Well acted, funny, and kept us guessing. Worth a watch if you like whodunnits / mysteries.
I watched The Little Brown Bird next with my son. It was fun trying to explain everything to him (which he didn’t seem to fully grasp).
After that, we finished Wednesday Season 2 on @netflix.com. We didn’t like it as much as season 1, but it was still worth a watch in my opinion if you liked the first season.
A woman looks from a dark room out a window from a boat, where the only light originates in the frame. The movie title and captions are present as well as Netflix information and the release date in bottom center.
Next we watched The Woman in Cabin 10 on @netflix.com. It was a good mystery in the Gone Girl-esque genre. We enjoyed it.
A movie poster reads “a Martin Scorsese film / Leonardo DiCaprio / SHUTTER ISLAND” in center frame with a silhouette of the main character’s face illuminated by a match flame in center-top and a wide shot of an island with a prison/mental institution and lighthouse on it. In bottom center, the sub caption “SOME PLACES NEVER LET YOU GO” is over a list of movie credits and the release date. February 19.
We decided to watch Shutter Island staring Leonardo DiCaprio and @markruffalo.bsky.social since we had never seen it. It kept us engaged well despite the newborn baby exhaustion, enough so to sacrifice some sleep!
Another great trip (for my birthday!) to Pine Glades Natural Area in Jupiter, FL to get outside with some family. This is a great example of restoration done right. #nature #restoration #flowers #hiking
Visited Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands in Boynton Beach, FL today. Amazing example of an environmental #restoration project that serves a functional purpose and is beautifully educational. #nature #outdoors #hiking #birds
Wrapped up @amazonprime.bsky.social Upload Season 4 and it was a nice way to wrap up the show, if a little short. We don’t often watch on Prime Video, but we have always enjoyed this show.
A beautiful morning in #nature volunteering at a sea turtle nest excavation. #outdoors #citizenscience
A promo shot for the show The Amazing Race with silhouettes raving on two areas on bottom and top of screen. A large bridge and city skyline is in the background with a water body in mid frame.
We also have bee watching old seasons of The Amazing Race on @paramountpictures.bsky.social plus and enjoying it. We are through season 9 so far. I’ll probably only update this in chunks as we watch.
