Alas @manticgames.bsky.social haven't posted on here. GITS.

Yes. But there needs to be a clear agreement between painter and client as to what's an acceptable outcome.
If you as a painter say "so like my yellow space marines but red, yeah?" you set defined expectation of quality.
That back and forth should be factored in too. Time isn't free.
Well this has my attention. Where's it from?
Let's say £20/hour for this, because anyone charging less is doing it for less than minimum wage once you factor in environmental cost i.e. desk, electric, brushes, paint.
I'll bite. If I was starting tomorrow.
One hour. Reckon I could get a basic, three-colour-and-a-wash troop done in that time.
Three hours. Squad sergeant as above with extra details
Six hours. Army commander/warlord.
Twelve hours. Commander, but awesome.
But in the way I paint not GW neatness.
It's a value exchange. If the client is happy to pay £x for an agreed paint job, then that's the price it is.
Conversely, if it takes you one evening to bang out a model to a particular standard, but it takes me four evenings, it's unrealistic for me to try and charge four.
Ta! Definitely an influence. Lean into that 70s vibe.
Cheers, Hev :)

Apone, Robot Detective.
Lovely sci-fi model from @diehardminiatures.bsky.social. Couldn't resist making him a chromedome as the cheekbone angles suited it.

Top job, fella.
Ah, that problem. Horrible, isn't it. Can you change your habits? Maybe leave it until you're having a fresh cuppa then view it as a treat?
... is it the awesome Samurai, or the mention of goblins? Or yes.
It's not the elapsed time, it's the value and enjoyment you get from it. The question is was it time well spent?
Congratulations on aging in hemispheres!
Outstanding work, mate. Such a pretty army!
Dwarf king with resplendent grey beard.
Once you go dwarf, etc.
All the old stuff sells pretty well on eBay, even if only partial. I watch my son brutalise my old Transformers, He-Man and MASK toys and can hear the value dropping each time they smash into each other ...
Ton of MASK in there, splendid find. Also, Skorpanok? What a treasure trove.
Yellow! I love yellow.
(apologinos, I'm not actually in either of your reginos, but couldn't resist a bit of Ned Flanderinos)
Love them. These models started a mild obsession during 2020 for me that morphed into collecting every Eldar from launch through to end of 4th edition ...
Pig orc in red hood holding a sword in front of him.
Work continues on these handsome boys. I think the faces are just wonderful to paint.
Love how shiny you've made it!
Yeah, wasn't getting anything else done with that on.
It remains a wonderful film.
