The Human Be-In, held January 14, 1967, Golden Gate Park. An estimated 20,000 to 30,000 people turned out to hear Timothy Leary famously urge attendees to "turn on, tune in, drop out." Check out Psychedelic Rock Posters and Fashion of the 1960s at Portland Art Museum before June 15th!

Tested and ranked up to 5th Kyu last night! Still rocking my white belt as SKA is more traditional in only having white and brown belts prior to black. It’d be equivalent to say purple in other styles. On my way to peace through strength and joy through my childhood obsession. 🥋

Same here. The Buddha is not a deity. I give more of an ancestor of lineage and thought feeling.

There’s even a Norse Saga about the Buddha and I find that to be so interesting.

We’re out here! Haha. How did designing Contemplative Druidry work with ADF? I’m honestly a bit surprised they went for it. Buddhism isn’t exactly an ancient Indo-European tradition. Though influence was definitely there. Have you heard of the Helgo Viking Buddha? It’s my favorite.

Thanks! I don’t think so but I had emailed Kirk with no response back.

Basically for me that looks like Heathen holidays and rituals, meditation at home and temple, rune mala, offering flowers, incense, mead, etc. Odin seems just fine to share space with Buddha on my altar. Zen lends itself to most religions quite easily I’d say but nature based paths even more so.

I keep meaning to get out there! They aren’t great about informing folks when events happen however.

It’s a bit of a long story of course but I started meditating as a teenager, generally meditating off and on from that point. I’ve been a “Pan Germanic” Heathen for the last 14ish years. 2 1/2 years ago I took a more formal approach to Zen at a Soto Temple in addition.

I practice a very similar path. Zen and Heathenry.
