Still waiting to see a video of the red tartan tie bicycling to work.

Will it happen? 🤔

What’s also interesting about the name of this map is the word used to describe the infrastructure itself. 🤔

Zooming in on the map... I'm hoping that missing connection on 5 St SW to the river happens very soon! Like this summer would be amazing!

Blue line is existing, and purple is what's missing. I'm thinking there some infra built that is not on there.

10 year implementation plan for Calgary Pathway Program

10 year implementation plan for Calgary Pathway Program

I've never noticed plans for more bicycle infrastructure in Calgary be time bound before. This map says that it's the "10 year implementation plan".

Come to think of it, "Implementation" is also more definitive language than I've seen before.🤔

April 18, 2026. Snow piles on sidewalk edge, not placed to block cycle track.

April 18, 2026. Snow piles on sidewalk edge, not placed to block cycle track.

It may have taken the entire winter to get to this point, but this block on 5 St SW is finally being cleared as suggested by the city.

Placed into large piles, kept on sidewalk edge (not in cycle track), near trees when present. 😀👍

How do we start again at this place next winter?

Reverse cognitive decline by riding a bicycle.

This video gets a bit technical… the TL;DR: just go ride and get a good night sleep. 🚲🧠😀👍

Interesting. Do you know if that includes the cycle tracks downtown?

1 day ago 1 0 1 0

Yes there is always 311. 😂

What if there was regular street cleaning on residential streets? Like every couple of months, and that didn’t require people submitting 311. 🤷‍♂️

What if there was also regular cleaning of cycle tracks?

Calgary street sweeping campaign begins April 20 On the heels of a thick blanket of snow, the City of Calgary will bring the brooms out on winter roads and begin its annual street sweeping campaign. Trucks will roll out starting April 20 in areas th...

Calgary does a once a year street sweeping campaign, and the rest of the year there is nothing (besides winter snow clearing).

Is only once per year strange?

Should street cleaning not be a regular thing to keep the city clean and storm water and rivers free of contaminants?

I should have clarified… the solution to funding anything, while not raising taxes, nor decreasing funding on anything else or selling assets, is density. 👇

Some very wealthy corporations and people want you to think the idea of “15-Minute Cities” is a scary conspiracy.

But it’s really just common sense. More things nearby without always needing a car.

But have you heard of the “1-Hour City Conspiracy?”

Stay tuned.

How were conditions? Sounds like there may be an ice layer under the snow.

Seems like they should still narrow it a bit so it’s not confused as a place for cars. 🤔

Hundreds of aging city playgrounds at risk of closure within the decade, report says | CBC News The City of Calgary could shutter more than 80 per cent of its community playgrounds by 2036 unless councillors approve nearly $200 million in funding over the next decade, according to a city report.

This sounds similar to water infrastructure. How can we solve this problem?
