On this date, 112 years ago, members of the Colorado National Guard and private security opened fire on striking miners and their families at Ludlow, Colorado, in the southeast of the state. 21 people were killed, mostly women and children.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
The worst part of any bike ride is cars.

Well, today we're taxing the rich...
how much money does the marine corps lose
The 28th Virginia battle flag is a Confederate battle flag that belonged to the 28th Virginia Infantry Regiment. Captured by the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg, the flag was brought to Minnesota and exhibited at the state's capitol for several years before passing into the permanent collection of the Minnesota Historical Society after 1896 where it has remained since.
Happy Confederate Surrender Day from Minnesota where we still have your goddamn flag and we’re not giving it up.

I came here to say exactly this ^^
[do y'all ever wonder who you would have been if you hadn't spent the last decade marinating in disaster forced on you by a frothing cult of dead end racists and their hateful brainless figurehead, because i do]
Every sensible government will spend the coming months accelerating the deployment of solar, batteries, heat pumps, and EVs, especially for lower income households. It’ll be a hell of a lot cheaper in the long run than subsidising fossil fuels the next time prices spike, which they will.
"Why don't Americans-" The ruling class of America has intentionally disempowered its citizens spread across 3,000+ miles of land and then funded the police force as an occupying army that happily murders anyone who opposes them and imprisons whoever is left as slave laborers. So phone calls it is
WEIRD how the constant “you have to prove there’s no fraud before you get your money” never applies to the Pentagon
the level of pent-up horniness for a rocket launch that doesn't benefit or involve elon musk exceeds even my high expectations
A set of screenshots from DEEP SPACE NINE. An old Klingon throws his arms around Dax and shouts "Curzon, my beloved old friend!" Dax returns the hug and says "I'm Jadzia now." The Klingon grabs her shoulders, smiles, and says "Jadzia, my beloved old friend!"
Star Trek figured this out thirty years ago. It's not hard. Even an old, drunk Klingon got it.
Minnesota has to SUE the federal government just to see the evidence behind two dead Americans. That’s exactly what they are doing.
That’s not law enforcement…that’s a COVER-UP.
a last minute staff revision for the minneapolis police training & wellness center - they are proposing taking less from traffic calming, and MORE from ADA ramp replacement!
it is so disgusting to see crucial community needs like this bartered away in favor of shoveling more money at MPD
It's just unreal how little thought or planning went into starting a new massive war in the Middle East.
Sinners deserves Best Cinematographer simply for the fact that it's a modern movie where you can tell what's going on during all the night scenes
I hate how there's infinite money for war and cops, but not the things we need in life
There are more instances of United States Citizens being detained by ICE than there are of illegal immigrants voting in elections.
The Kerlan Collection at the University of Minnesota Libraries has the original manuscripts, journals, photo albums, and sketches for Wanda Gág's books, including "Millions of Cats."

One of my favourite sides of politics/media.
Fun fact, US passports did not have a gender marker until 1977, when a rising trend in unisex fashion started freaking the government out.

THAT’S NOT HOW THAT WORKS
I wish more media would cover the Minnesota Occupation for the failure that it was. Not only did it cause enormous damage, but they couldn't even put together a top 10 dangerous dudes list. They got like 1 deportation per agent over a 3 month period. Colossal failure from a bunch of mall cop losers
I’m just a Minneapolitan, standing in front of a country, asking them to stop platforming our mayor for swearing on tv about ICE and then doing nothing substantive while antagonizing city council members that are
This sign is up in my south Minneapolis neighborhood right now. We regularly vote at among the highest rates in the country.
I cannot express how enormous the gulf is between the people on the ground and what we're hearing from national Democratic leadership.
"iS tHeRe a tEcHnoLoGY tHe leFt Is eXcItEd aBoUt" yeah, renewable energy, mRNA vaccines. Lots of cool stuff like that! Probably not the one whose main promise was cutting payrolls
