Find me at @swapfest.berlin @c-base.org today to swap electronics and to discuss a new, sovereign, private internet. It's possible. #reticulum

A radio device, Heltec V4, with 3D-printed case. It is running RNode reticulum firmware, you can tell from the lovely designed screen.
Organized a #reticulum workshop at @c-base.org yesterday. It was really eye-opening. We came for the LoRa nodes but got sucked into the rabbit hole that opened up in front of us once we realized what we were looking at. It truly feels like 1990, a new internet with security and privacy built-in.
Will you also do 868MHz for EU? I'm running all three stacks currently and would love such a gateway!

Added #meshcore support to PotatoMesh as the Berlin Chaos Mesh community largely migrated from #meshtastic to meshcore. ๐ป๐ด

Swapfest #5 @c-base.org is around the corner!
We've still got some space for tables if you wish to swap some items.
As always attendance is free and optional.

Big news! We are excited to announce we are teaming up with the Internet @archive.org to co-organize the @getdweb.net DWeb Camp 2026 just outside Berlin this year. Will you go camping with us?
Graphic of DWeb Camp: Root Systems. Keywords: talks, roundtables, workshops, mesh networking, art & music, 24/7 hacking, kids program, hiking, demo night market.

Tomorrow we have our next stammtisch on board of @c-base.org - a good way to meet people from the DoD and other humanoids in a relaxed atmosphere and get involved in our activities - e.g. this year things we do at @getdweb.net camp dwebcamp.org

Implemented #Meshcore repeater for a native Linux target, so you can run it on a Raspberry Pi with no external hardware requirements, only a LoRa hat.

RAK WisMesh Repeater, RAK WisMesh Solar Battery, RAK 868 MHz antenna 80cm, surge protector, some coax seal and iso tape to make the connectors weather proof.
Swapfest? :)
Linux From Scratch has no package manager. Technically, NixOS can also be considered "without package manager."
We used 3D printed stencils to assist solderimg the radials to the SMA connector.
The lenght of the antenna was trimmed until we hit exactly the 868MHz mark, even though they were fairly broad band.
25 people attended and used up 20 antenna kits for 40 antennas.
Not all antennas were pretty but they work very well.
We soldered ~40 antennas (868MHz) with ground-plane radials at the Berlin Chaos Mesh meetup at @c-base.org yesterday. It was a lot of fun and the results were very fine-tuned antennas for #meshcore #meshtastic.

Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 tags I ordered are dead after just a couple of months. I would not recommend this, better get a LILYGO T-Echo or a RAK WisMesh Pocket.
I have a similar setup, wondering, what's your stance on grounding the pole?
Ja, Wahnsinn. In Berlin auch...
Switched my rooftop repeater from #Meshtastic to #Meshcore finally. Differences are day and night. Now, I can follow actual conversations.

yes, and I'm planning to add authentication workflows for units you don't own, time permitting.

We're happy to announce a long-term partnership with Motorola. We're collaborating on future devices meeting our privacy and security standards with official GrapheneOS support.

We had some truly insightful conversations at @c-base.org yesterday, thank you to all who participated!
For those who are interested but were not able to join, please stay tuned. More coming soon!
Tickets on sale from the 9th March 2026.
While `ps` and `pgrep` are helpful, I decided to streamline my workflow by implementing `psn` - process status navigator that allows me to text match a filter or regular expression on the process list and sending signals directly from the #TUI.

Published another crate. psn - process status navigator ๐ฆ #rustlang
Often, when I have a process hanging and want to send a signal, I cannot easily find the pid and then sending the signal is yet another step once I identified the pid.

The @getdweb.net Camp Unconference day at
@c-base.org just started! Excited for a day of co-creation and to be supporting the camp happening in Berlin via the @dod.ngo this year! ๐๏ธ๐
The @getdweb.net planning unconference by @archive.org and @dod.ngo on board of @c-base.org started. Lot's of great people around. Beautiful weather (so we will do some sessions outside at the river).
Thank you. Yes, I already added it to my workflows ^^
