Conversely, as much as I loved THE COLORS WITHIN, I am disappointed they didn't commit to the sapphic love story. Kimi x Totsuko all the way.

Got to see the American premier of Naoko Yamada's THE COLORS WITHIN. Such a beautiful, heartfelt film. The teenaged characters are so vibrant and funny and genuine. It's hard not to love them. Her story about "discovering feelings you don't yet have a name for" really resonated with me.

Recently learned that Hayao Miyazaki was the most commercially unsuccessful anime director at 40. He didn't achieve greatness until later in life. His story is a nice reminder that everything and everyone has their own time. Especially in a world with so much pressure to succeed at a young age.
