today I was the Run Director, so my walk streak day 84 was just a walk to and from the park. Next week I’ll participate again.

in 2021 our average was about 25 participants. These days are average is around 75 to 80. In the summer we get more because of tourists and holidays of course.

we finally launched in August 2021. It used to be that we were very nervous in the beginning – would anyone come? Would people like it? Would we have enough volunteers? For us it’s five years later and we’re like a well oiled machine now.

it’s parkrunday! And a special happy birthday to parkrun Netherlands -six years ago, we launched the first six parkruns I believe. Unfortunately, we had to stop after only three events due to the coronavirus. My parkrun was scheduled to go live on 4 April that year…

it is an infrared sauna blanket. not only does it soothe sore muscles it’s just nice and toasty warm on a cold day!

oh! That’s Mieke. we often do our briefing in English during the summer through the end of September because of tourism. But we have a very diverse team and we don’t mind accommodating for those who don’t speak Dutch. I checked the app and I was actually at a new parkrun that day in Zwolle!

yeah sometimes it's just a hard NO when it comes to the weather! I hope to start running again soon. My plan was to be able to run a full parkrun by 4/4 when I'm up seeing friends who live near Norwich. Not sure that will be happening now though. Walk/run is fine for me!

Seattle was very livable back in the day! I moved to NL from Portland, Oregon :) and eventually I worked for a US company in NL and had to travel occasionally to Seattle.
