My take on a PokéTeto may be in my future. I say, knowing Art Fight and the Summer Teto contest are approaching…

I’m going to say this was a very easy pick between favorite type + one of my favorite Pokémon + those hair clips.

It’s @twiins-iink.bsky.social’s Steel Type Teto! 🔔

The association is there by default, and there is a notable shot of a dandelion at different stages in life, but I had just thought they'd emphasize that more.

That said, I do love what they do with the bike at the end. Just the perfect way to wrap it up in a way that is metaphorically charged.

My biggest surprise with Dandelion is that I thought they would have made a dandelion metaphor a pronounced part of the story. The whole thing about dandelions is that they're not valued in life, only in death, and this is a show about living in the moment with no regrets.

Dandelion was good!! It was gooooooood. Anime warm soup.

Episode 5 was the peak of it for me, but I'm sure the fan favorite will be Episode 4.

I'm glad that all the people at JUMP and the anime production committees collectively realized that they trained Gintama fans to be shills and started luring us with shiny coins.

I continue to look forward to these shiny coins.

Fan art of Jacinthe from Pokémon Legends ZA posed on the right, with an excited, cutesy pose and expression. She pinched one part of a necklace in her right hand and holds the other end with her left palm. Draped in front of her, the necklace has a gemstone at the end of it, which matches her Carbink to the left, whose ears form a slight heart and wears a happy expression.

I want to do a small series of artworks with my favorite Legends ZA characters giving little gifts to their Pokémon.

Fan art of Grisham from Pokémon Legends ZA holding a piece of buttered bread in his left hand close to his right shoulder. Charizard lurches over said shoulder with a happy expression, about to bite the bread. Grisham’s left hand is positioned upwards to pet Charizard and hold him back a bit. Grisham wears a very slightly overwhelmed but happy look on his face.

“Why the ribbon in the first picture?” So in this scenario, Manisha would want to be dragging Lio by the hand, but because of his “power,” he’s got a complicated hand situation going on, so this is a compromise.

New design for Lio, by the way. I’ll miss the scarf a little, but I think this fits his personality and the setting a bit better.

Art of the “Every Friend Group Has the” meme with my original characters. Lio gives a hesitant thumbs up above “active su*cide risk,” Suri smiles with her hands folded under her chin above “10/10,” Elaine crosses her arms and looks at Suri with a bit of a pout above “needs to retake the ‘am I gay quiz,” Amanda looks like she’s given up above “cannibalized first in plane crash scenario,” Manisha smiles and waves above “Xanax prescription ASAP” that’s crossed out in red and replaced with “active su*cide risk,” and Faust looks at the camera disinterested, holding a piece of paper above “missing person.”

I need to do sillier things with my characters NOW!!

I liked the show best when these crafted scenarios put pressure on these characters to behave in new ways, that could tackle their specific internal conflicts, that could radiate a theme without looking into the camera and saying it. And that's truly my issue with Episode 8; it's not about the cast.

But it's brushed aside in favor of the greater good. Of the plot. Of the "situation." We cannot dwell on the implications, we cannot enrich the positions of the characters in this world. Pomni stops the argument between Jax and Zooble because it is logically the correct thing to do.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

You know a conflict that is character-specific? Jax, when provided the option, choosing not to leave the circus, after a whole episode about him being in turmoil over the relationships he's built and lost and his tendency to disregard his and other people's feelings.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

It's the correct choice, but is it an interesting one? Is there any interesting conflict here, or are the characters just trying not to get eternally tortured? Anyone would probably not like to get eternally tortured, so it feels very unspecific to the characters.

the computer is what's giving them the chance of an exit!

And we're concerned with getting out of the circus more than before just because Caine is antagonistic now. It's reactive. Pomni puts a bucket on Kinger's head because that is logically the solution.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

This is an extended sequence that's meant to contrast with the pilot, meant to demonstrate that something as changed. But it feels hollow because she is there to fetch the computer. You'd assume the contrast would be that she is no longer looking for an exit, but

Like they need a computer so Kinger can deal with Caine. So Pomni goes "I know where a computer is!" and goes to the exit doors from the pilot. But what does this achieve for the story other than getting from A to B. What does this reveal about the characters?

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

So it feels like this conflict is self-contained within the episode, but it's performed as catharsis from the rest of the series. I feel the push for conflict from the writer, not the characters. And, again, the decision-making is just so factual, so reactive.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

But I have a hard time placing why this conflict is suddenly happening *now.* Yes, there's plenty of scenes to demonstrate that Caine is insecure. But the breaking point comes from Bubble, who has very little presence in the series, and it pertains to a concept that was just revealed in the intro.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

You can logic your way into rationalizing a lot of the choices. It's not a matter of plot holes; it's that it's *all* explaining, all facts. Very little character. Yes, the context of the characters matters. Caine being the inferior version. Kinger being a programmer involved with Caine.
