One of the best Star Trek games. And not just recently, but one that stands tall with Bridge Commander and Elite Force.

It's slightly different software and, if you don't like it, you can use third party software to access the games so you don't even have to use the trash software.

While with Steam, you're stuck with the trash software.

I'll never, ever understand that stance. It's like people who would refuse something great because it isn't on Amazon.

Unlike Steam, Epic allows you to use other launchers for their games, like Heroic.

Because people love the other app designed to do the same thing that started out as an online DRM platform.

Epic has achievements.

I'll never understand that. There's absolutely no benefit in doing so. It's just like punching yourself in the face.

Alan Wake 2 is DRM free on Epic. Then you can add it to Steam yourself.

So you can enjoy the game instead of punishing yourself for no reason.

The JP box has a lovely anime style poster of Rock Volnutt running, followed by Roll in a camper van and multiple flying vehicles.

The NA box has an odd looking 3D model of Mega Man's armour with the head of Gary Oak looking like he's just come up with an evil scheme.

The A-la-carte games refer to the ones purchased though linked storefronts, so will still be downloadable after this service shuts down.

Not a great help if you were steaming because you don't have a device to play the games, though.

It doesn't even need to be public domain. Just remove the right of corporations to sue people for breaking copyright if the product is unavailable for a few years. If it's made available again, they get it back (but not retroactively)

I've played hundreds of games though emulation, the vast majority are unavailable to buy in any official capacity.

When they're available and reasonably priced, I'm more than happy to pay. I'm planning to play all Castlevania games and got all the collections, even though I'm using other emulators.

I just googled something for a video game, and as I scrolled past the dumb AI results, I noticed that it uses Video Game Fanon Wiki as a valid source of information.

These "Fanon" websites literally say that they're made up.

A season-long Year of Hell would probably have been extremely toned down. A reset after a two parter is bad enough, resetting a whole season would be crazy.

The original story was so much better than what we got - it really should have stayed as Dinosaur Planet.

Still a great game, it just could have been more.

AI writing is rather drawn out and just too busy. It uses far too many words to say very little.

They must have removed it at some point, so good that it's returning.
