Were the government lawsuits and murders of Hardside members too much for these Surrey Hells Angels? Hardside folds, but new West Side chapter starts on the island. vancouversun.com/news/crime/s...

Just to explain court math - the sentence was 15 years minus 7 years, 2 months credit for pretrial custody. 2 years in jail in Puerto Rico, for which he got 1.5/1 for each day as credit. Then another 2 years in BC where he got 2/1 credit. With stat release, he'll be out in 5 yrs.

Still enjoying my life as a reporter Richard! But I wouldn't mind being on the Park Board some day. I might even start my own Pool Party.

In fact, Wiwchar tried to escape as well in July 2022 - days after his co-accused Rabih Alkhalil broke out of North Fraser Pretrial. Wiwchar pleaded guilty in Aug. 2024 and was sentenced to 2 years, but was already serving life. (Alkhalil was arrested in Qatar last fall.)

Even if convicted, Wiwchar won't face any additional jail time as he's already serving life for a Toronto murder and was handed a 20-year sentence last month for the Sandip Duhre murder plot. So any new sentence would be concurrent.
