Getting close!

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
I had been badly languishing on this piece and have a totally renewed outlook after yesterday's progress. I also managed to hurt my shoulder because I don't have a frame to stitch in and am using an oversize hoop. I'm hoping I can find a way to stitch comfortably.
Every time! 🤡
Thank you! As always I was like “uh oh, I forgot how to do this” at first but I think it’s coming together now!
Embroidery of a mostly white Pit mix's big meatball of a head with a big smile. Her name, Edie, is stitched underneath in mauve-ish floss on dark grey aida fabric with a cross-stitched border.
Work-in-progress embroidery of a Rottweiler's head with a tongue-out smile. Her name, Bonnie, is stitched underneath in mauve-ish floss on dark grey aida fabric with a cross-stitched border.
Got so much done on my double dog embroidered portrait yesterday! Hoping for another good day and will have the end in sight!
Cross-stitch on dark grey aida fabric in tones of purple. The center text reads “Nurture Your Daughter” in gothic font with a tiled diamond border. Two dogs’ heads are on either side of the text, with the one on the left nearly completely embroidered and the one on the right sketched on white stabilizer.
Cross-stitch on dark grey aida fabric in tones of purple. The image focuses on an embroidered dog portrait, with the name reading Edie underneath a portrait in white and other light tones. The dog is smiling with its tongue out.
Finally have some good progress on this double dog portrait embroidery! It’s a reference to my favorite podcast, I Said No Gifts!, featuring the host’s pets.
Frodo: I wish so much unbelievably stupid shit had not happened in my time Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. This is all exceptionally stupid, though
Lovely recap for a charming premiere! I was resistant to return to Westeros but was drawn right in.
Haha, that’s a great way of putting it!
Embroidery of the frame from LOTR where Elrond is being intense and Frodo is dying and they’re both faded and weird looking.
Embroidery of the frame from LOTR where Elrond is being intense and Frodo is dying and they’re both faded and weird looking. There’s a sunbeam casting an additional glow over the piece.
My first finish of 2026 is deeply silly but I’m still happy with the likeness I was able to achieve of this Elrond and Frodo Lord of The Rings meme!
I added a ribbon border to fit the matte board I chose (and somehow wildly missized), and like how the brass frame sets off the piece!

Lovely!
Nearly have his whole face done apart from the rest of the jawline and the forehead, then onto the curls (and avoiding the hands).

She sucks so bad. Just the emptiest of suits and somehow gets emptier by the year.
Sorry you had to say goodbye so suddenly đź’” He is a beautiful boy.

If you ever want me to check something out in person I’m happy to send pictures. I truly am so grateful to have them just down the street.
I am so so lucky to live just a few blocks away from a bead store here in Eugene, www.harlequinbeads.com.
I have also used Barrels of Beads and Fire Mountain Gems for supplies but having an in-person option to check colors and finishes is so important for me.
I will continue to over-update because I am loving this piece! It’s probably the most emblematic of my mosaic bead embroidery style so far with the placement of the beads.

A bunch of microsoft logos from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today but instead of saying Microsoft all of them spell Microslop in the vibe of the original logos.
It's fascinating to see the changes in one company's logo over the years.
I’m so pleased with how this is turning out! The high-contrast lighting is making my beading options so much more dynamic.

WILL be updating my daily cursing of every shitty feature I am forced to use at work (or have to spend time disabling, unclicking, ferreting out how to thwart) to Microslop.
Really disturbing. All the coverage of Grok/xAI creating CSAM has been awful too.
I have largely resisted Reels and it 100% has limited my reach on Instagram, a platform which now disincentivizes non-moving and audio-free posts.
Beautiful!
The shadows are going to help this portrait come together.
Yes, I’m using all my smallest beads for this one: Miyuki size 11/0 and 15/0, 15/0 seed beads and 13/0 Charlottes.
The shadows are going to help this portrait come together.
Light sketch of Connor Storrie from a recent photo shoot with limited black line emphases. A circle has been drawn for the edges of the embroidery pattern.
Work-in-progress bead embroidery on midnight blue fabric in a wood frame. The left side of Connor Storrie’s face is mostly beaded and the rest of the pattern is on iron-on stabilizer.
Reallllly pushing the limits of how small I can realistically bead embroider but I do feel like this looks like Connor Storrie so far.

3 panel comic. Panel 1: man presenting to board room, saying “we have three new emoji ideas.” Panel 2: the page is turned to reveal two incomprehensible horror emojis and a banh mi. Panel 3: the people in the boardroom look concerned. One says uhh… and the other says “the banh mi is cute”
